I'm not concerned that we won't be able to run effectively. It's more of a question can we pass protect and keep Collaros from getting hit or needing to rush throws.

Calgary has many roster issues regarding injuries to some key players. VAJ is probably back but they have issues in their secondary due to injuries. We have to be able to take advantage.
Time for Bombs and Brady bully ball

I thought Ottawa's O line brought stamps D line down to earth.

Stanback had some good runs, and Dru, for the most part had time to throw.

They're not that scary. They Lost one player and the team looked ordinary.

If good Zach shows up, Brady gets back on track, and Hogan  finds something newish in his  playbook
 we win.

Willie is back.  He's a one man army.  Younger Hall will get the D going. Just a matter of time.

Bad news about Logan
At least Lawson got some reps

Need to get more out of our Canadian DTs. Lawson with 9 DTs and Thomas with 3. Both without a sack so far this year.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

Yeah, that was something we should have been doing in free agency. Lawson was just starting to gain form after a long time off with injury. Now he's nicked again. I wonder if it's from the previous injury or a new injury or how serious.

He'll get moved to IR but whether it's 1 game or 6 game we won't know until later this week. This might be motivation to choose Woods being added to the AR for at least this week.

Can't quite rule out Lawson as being able to play this week.

Hopefully it's not a reagrevation

I don't think so. In 2024 it was a knee injury I believe. This time it's a hip injury which can be minor or serious. He was listed as " limited " so it's an issue but sounds more like day to day, week to week.

I don't really think we have the horses there this year. We don't need to force them onto the field if they're not performing.

Good to know!

100%.  If Lofton (and Stan) is healthy, he gets his RT spot.  Ran in for Vant at LG, basically whoever is healthy.  However, if we need the ratio it's not a huge dropoff to Wallace.

OL starting to shape up, and give us decent flexibility.

Quote from: dd on August 05, 2025, 10:59:43 PMWe had a good OL and recievers the last 2 Grey Cups, what happened then??

REC corps wasn't great for last cup: '24 no Schoen, no Woli, many rookies

OL has been trending down steadily, every season, since FA22 (loss of Desjar).

Quote from: Jesse on August 05, 2025, 07:31:55 PM- Mitchell working with 1st team on the outside and at slot. The first time I saw him take a waggle, he was two steps behind everyone else, looking at the ball the whole time. 2nd time was better, but still a step behind making very sure he didn't go off side.

Maybe he should coach up Demski  ;)  ;)  ;D  ;D  ;D

Quote from: Blue In BC on August 05, 2025, 01:08:20 PMCould you tell or have an opinion on which players are taking less reps? Kelly and J.Jones were playing their 1st game and Ball was playing his 2nd game.

I think they have the NAT core that is almost always in, like Cadwal, Hallett, Gauthier, etc.  Those are the glue guys.

The rest seemed to rotate.  I didn't see Ayers at all?  Ball a few times, Kelly a few times, J.Jones a few times (really looked good), Cooley, etc.  Didn't see Griffin much?

Demski's exactly what you want. Push the boundary as much as you can. Same with Willie trying to time up the snap.
