Quote from: gobombersgo on July 31, 2025, 12:52:37 AMBack when Canad Inns had benches for all the seats that place would get pretty darn loud.

I just remember always having a sore hand from banging on the seat in front of me.

the metal backing would thunder! We would whack those pretty good.

Quote from: GOLDMEMBER on July 30, 2025, 06:40:55 PMJesse's point is it is loud at Mosaic as they pump in the noise. Do you understand?

a) This is EXACTLY what they say about IGF/PAS on their forum!  Like every single Banjo Bowl!  How can both fanbases believe this, and both fanbases be right?

b) Noise pumping is 100% illegal within-whistle in the CFL.  I don't think any team would risk it.  Booth guys, or TSN crew, or visiting fans might catch on.

I've been to both stadiums a lot when they are loud, and the noise seems totally organic to me.  For some reason the SSK noise is just different.  Maybe all that stubble jumping does something to their vocal cords?

Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on July 30, 2025, 09:28:34 PMCorrect me if I'm wrong but are most of the games you attend at Mosaic not sellouts, as in LDC, playoff or GC related? Talking in the last 2-3 years their stadium is half empty, no way they produce as much noise as a sellout at PAS.

Yes, most games are the LDC and playoffs, where it should be louder.  But I've also been to 2 non-LDC vs Bombers games too.  Yes, those should be louder too because of the rivalry.  It's usually pretty similar.

I know I noticed, and someone else commented on, a SSK game the other day/week (BC?) how the crowd seemed to be getting REALLY loud.  That's the noise I remember from my visits there.

Quote from: bomb squad on July 31, 2025, 12:56:21 AMThat's where the bell comes in handy. Don't tell me you don't have one?!

1 large bell, 1 medium bell, 1 clapper (the only one that didn't disintegrate yet) and my Big Gun: my 20s boo.  The kids & I trade off on duties.

Sometimes I can get the quiets around me to do a 10s boo and there is no noise in the world like 2-3 of us doing full-on boo that long.  That's where the ears start distorting.  Good stuff!!

Even if you bell, try the boo.

Not like I wanted this thread to in any way look like a "SSK is louder/better" thread!  To heck with the greenies, I hope they lose the next 9.

But comparisons can be useful, and it's good to stay on our toes so we don't lose our "loudest fans" moniker.

My main goal is to get more people involved in being louder more often.  So far I've gotten some great tips I will incorporate into my noise game.

The product is sub par from the top down.  The long time knowledgeable fans see this and the newer fans who have just  started going can sense it.  Going to be an interesting game tomorrow night.  For many reasons.....

I think a good tip is for people to start making noise when the 20 second clock starts.

Sure, fan noise would be beneficial when the other team is in the huddle but it's harder to sustain until the snap of the ball.

Sir Blue and Gold

Looking like a sellout. Guessing they'll announce it soon. Could be wrong but I don't think there's ever been a CFL team to ever sell out every game.

The crowd gets into it situationally. If I were to guess, the time when fans are into it will be second and long (or third and long and they're going for it), and the game is close. If we are letting them march at will constantly, including getting 10+ yards on their first downs, and the game is nearly out of reach from that happening previously too many times, the D isn't giving the fans much reason to support them. And that's exactly what happened during the previous game.

Our first game against BC we controlled it and the noise wasn't "needed" as much (as in, there wasn't the sense of urgency that riles up the crowd). Against EDM, I think there was frustration from the crowd that they were even keeping it close. I realize these sound like excuses (and they kinda are) but I am a loud fan who cheers on D all game long. I noticed these circumstances that dictate how hard I go and didn't feel the impetus to get as loud as I can go many times. When the conditions described above are met, myself and those whole stadium take it up to 11.

In any case, I actually agree with Tecno on this as I noticed the crowd more quiet than usual, but I instantly could attribute it to these differences as I felt it myself. Overall of course, the sellout crowds have been great and supportive. After losing 3 in a row, a rare loss and poor last game at home, and on the precipice of going below .500 after a 3-0 start, if we are coming after Arbuckle and causing pressure and mistakes, putting them in 2nd and long and have a general mojo, expect some serious volume. If we are letting this career backup march at will against us, expect the crowd to get deflated and spend more time at the Rum Hut.

If we put together a good game and win tomorrow, I'm really excited to see a positive post out of you. If you're nowhere to be found, we will know for sure.
