Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on July 22, 2025, 10:12:37 PMObviously I realize they're NI's, just saying MOS should take whatever opportunity he can to shake up the roster.  Having players sit on the 1 game IR or the PR for half the season without playing won't be a good experience for anyone and could influence their decision to sign another contract with the team.  Quite possible they lose some of the players they're trying to retain, Schmeck, Mitchell, Jones couldn't be blamed if they look elsewhere for a better opportunity to play.  Word has it the Elks are always hiring.

I'm confused by your use of NI's ( Non imports ) when speaking about imports. Is there another definition of NI's that I missed.

Regardless I agree with your take that O'Shea should shake up the roster somewhat.

So many players are on 1 year deals so I don't know that players that sit on IR for an extended time are any more or less likely to leave in free agency.  They are being very well paid to not play or risk injury.

Sir Blue and Gold

If we lose players that weren't good enough to get on the field in the off-season is that really so bad? And if the cost to keep those players is to play them over players we've evaluated to be better why would we (or any team) do that? And if you're going to say the evaluation is off, then that needs to get fixed first, but it's an incredibly hard argument to make when we've done as well as we have over a long period.

I'm expecting a close game
Agree on rust
Not sure he will start as they will be cautious

"Toronto Argonauts quarterback Chad Kelly practiced with the team on Tuesday, but it was Nick Arbuckle who took first-team reps"

I'd be SHOCKED if we see Kelly this week and maybe not next week either. That's the franchise. You wait until he's 100% ready and his timing is back.  It's only July and a non-divisional game.

Probably right. Maybe he comes in and runs some plays but doesn't start?

McManis is not practising again. Did he get re-injured in the last game? He's a key player on their defence and run stopper in particular.

He did, huge if doesn't play
Top player in the league imo
Agree on run
Can't remember what happened to him

@TSNScianitti
Chad Kelly is absent from #Argos practice. Nick Arbuckle taking 1st team reps. With this week's game vs Winnipeg on Saturday, this is likely an indication who is starting against the Bombers. Wynton McManis (knee) is at practice, but appears to be a limited

Yes, he hobbled off the field a couple of times and stayed down once.

It sounds as there is a decent chance that Bryant can play this week although O'Shea is always optimistic.

I don't think there are any other changes aside to a decision on who comes off the roster if Bryant plays.

Vaval seems capable of playing after getting nicked last week, so that will be a status quo as well.

OTOH, The Argos have several players that could miss this game due to more recent injuries. OL has several players not 100%.
