He gave up an ugly one on Friday vs. the Ducks, too.

I'd rather this team keep losing games, though. Go for that high pick.

They can do what they want until Friday, but after that we'd better not see any more games from Nyquist or Schenn, etc.

Get the kids up, see if they  have any chance of helping the team next year. Give Comrie every 4th game. Rest Toews as much as he needs to stay fresh.

And trade Stanley for whatever you can get.

Have to wonder if they are showcasing Stanley on the top PP and giving him 25 min a night.  Its either auditioning him for a resigning, or for a trade.

His outlier year this season, in a contract year, is suspect, but going to pay off for him well.  I can't see offering him more than $4mil here, but someone will give him $5mil+ and 4 or 5 years.

This is a cruel game, and he should grab as much as he can while the iron is hot.  Hope we do get something back for him, though.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Sadly, I think the most likely event is Stanley getting traded. I'd add Schenn to the mix, too.

This season is done. If only TNSE shared the same sentiment.

Do you think it's sad if Stanley leaves? I certainly wouldn't put it past the organization to keep him, it's just terrible asset management.

Schenn isn't worth a bag of hockey pucks, but I don't care if he stays or goes, as long as they sit him for the rest of the year.

I think you might have misinterpreted my reply. Of the scenarios you listed about benching the old guys, giving the youth/prospects more ice time with the big club, and trading Stanley, I think the only one that happens realistically is the last one - and that's sad considering the team's current situation/playoff aspirations.

If the Jets could get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Schenn, I'd make that trade.

If Chevy gets a 2nd rounder for Schenn, he should be knighted.

"Future considerations"  would be an overget for Schenn right now.  A 7th rounder in 2029 would be great.

A 2nd rounder and a good prospect for Pionk would be good.

No idea what Stanley would be worth, if you could get a second, I think that's value, I don't think even a late first would be feasible with him being a rental and, well, Stanley.  Anyone who wants him for his future knows they can wait and outbid Chevy.  Not sure any contenders need him as a rental.

It's a big if but that's basically what Cheveldayoff gave up for him last year. Trying to recover from that miscalculation to some degree would be nice.

I can't say I understand your fixation on him as a trade piece. Even if we ignore the fact he's injured, he's under contract for six more years.

IF, I am trading NP4, it would have to be for a top 6 forward with some term. The Jets need a 2nd. line C or RW.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

Nice come back win for the Jets. MS55 with 3 points. Really like the play of our 4th line right now 45/36/70. 54/57 playing well together.

I'm hoping we can do something sorta creative like have it be for a conditional first rounder on the basis of him signing an extension there. Or package him with someone else we'd otherwise get a sub-third rounder for to add enough value to get over that hump.

He's our only valuable trade piece so we need to do whatever we can to max out on the return for him. He's a first round pick and we've developed him into a decent D and you can make the upside argument based on his improvement this year, so go do it.
