Practice Report - Feb. 24

The Jets have also re-called G DiVincentiis from the Moose, who will back up Comrie until Hellebuyck returns.

No Pionk at today's practice.

This season's been cooked since before the holidays. The 11-game losing streak from Dec. 15 to Jan. 9 only solidified how crucial it is to embrace the tank and try and get another top draft pick in late June.

This organization desperately needs to address its roster deficiencies in the off-season, if not sooner: the second line is mediocre at best, no proven 2C, inadequate depth (forwards and defenders).

Hellebuyck's basically the US version of Carey Price at this point, IMO.

Top line were dangerous constantly and got rewarded with 2.
Our goalie .Com was very strong positionally and was a huge reason why we got the victory.

Geez I sure like young Salomonsson
Really happy for Fetts

Stanley QBing the top PP?  Heinola, in his first game up, QBing PP2?

I guess Morrissey and Pionk are missed.

Odd thing, Stanley is not out of place in the role. Sure, he still bets taken advantage of occasionally due to his big frame getting into/out of position, but in general, not looking too bad.

Salmonson is going to be a great addition, with Samburg.  I think a deadline move of Pionk would be better for the team than Stanley.

Morrisey/Samberg
Demelo/Stanley
Salmonson/x

Or even flip Scoring Stanley to the top pairing and see how he fares.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

The Canucks are the worst team in the league by a considerable margin. The Jets beat them in OT. I'm not sure that I'd read too much into player deployment in last night's game, or to speculate on trade deadline activity.

I do wonder what the Jets do with Heinola.

He directly caused the first goal against us. And as mentioned, the Canucks are the worst team in the league that's actively tanking, lol.

Stanley on our 1st or 2nd, PP tells me a lot about this team. PP last night 0/3. Stanley far to slow at moving the puck with the first unit. He also turns over the puck far to much. Still just a bottom pair D-man.
