Smart move by Samberg's team. Nice contract for the next three years. Samberg will have options at the end of this deal and will be looking for a long term deal.

He's making the bet that he can bump up his offensive numbers and get a mega-deal.

Like to see him with a 35-40 point s season this year.

Samberg is betting on himself.  If he can stay healthy, he will sign a max term deal in three years at $7mil or more.  Hopefully with us.

The only risk in not taking an 8 year deal right now is if he has a career ending / affecting injury.  An 8 year deal would be fully guaranteed, regardless his health.

But players cannot think like that.  We can, but they can't ;)
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

If the CSV line can stay healthy, I am expecting them to be one of the top lines in the NHL. The big question for me who plays with JT and Fetts. Like to see NN and AI both get to 45 plus points this season. We only have two right shooting forwards right now, MS55 and GV13. Ford and Yager both shoot right but need to have a excellent TC to make the team. Apps and Kupari both shoot right but no longer with the team.

Expecting Toews to be a 2nd liner still seems crazy to me

If Lowry doesn't heal for TC and early part of season then the need for Toews to be average+ is certainly crucial
Otherwise, our team may suffer a big hiccup in successful
line shuffling/creating.

No "if" there, lol. He's put for multiple months of the regular season.

Even with Lowry, we still don't have a 2C and are missing Ehlers.
