Watched the boys yesterday, just my second time, and it looked to be a big sampling of what the opening roster might be.
HellB was out on the first sheet but when they changed to the second sheet he wasn't with the group. They got Milic to share net with Comrie
Meanwhile Moose worked out on a third sheet and earlier saw Lowry and Walton, with a trainer/coach alone on the fourth sheet.
Vilardi was with Iafallo and Namestnikov while Nyquist skated with Schef and KC.
They had 8 Dmen on ice with 12 forwards
Koepke, who is fast and so very strong on his skates was with Barron and Pearson
Toews skated with Fetts and El NiƱo

The Jets have a couple of key injuries right now. JT left the game last night and Samberg the game before. VN7 was also injured last night on a check from behind.

6-8 weeks for Samberg is killer.  It might give Heinola a chance to prove his stuff though.  Or Stanley.  That extra D spot for the first 20 games will be pivotal for those two, if they can get in the lineup and show something.

I anticipate waiving one or both when Samberg is back, if not before.  And I don't think they clear.

Jets have lots of D-men they don't need Heinola.  Stanley stays because of his physical play but I wouldn't spend to much more time on him either.

JT didn't skate today. VN7 is back and okay.

Nice come back win for the Jets, but losing CP91 and DD2, not good.

Entertaining for a pre season it was with a real nice comeback
Sawyer had many positive comments about players such as
Koepke, Pearson and Ford and rightly so.
Nyquist has a nice style of speed and smarts

Agree that Heinola has no place in lineup
Felt Stan and Pionk worked hard and seemed suited when paired

DCM

Winnipeg has placed Ville Heinola and Walker Duehr on waivers.

CP91 out week to week with an ankle injury. The injuries are start to add up.

With Fetts out, wondering if Pearson moves up and starts season with Toews and Nyquist ?

Wow, looks like we will start the season off without Toews, Perfetti, Samberg, and Lowry. Crazy.

I was never worried about Heinola clearing waivers. Which NHL team would want or need him???

@DarrenDreger
The Winnipeg Jets and forward Kyle Connor are getting closer to a contract extension. Both sides are eager to get it done before Thursdays opener.

@PierreVLeBrun
I would expect an 8-year deal. That's the focus.
