Winnipeg Blue Bombers add two to roster

WINNIPEG, MB., April 2, 2025 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American defensive end Marquise Lawson-Greenwood and American linebacker Dreydon Hall.

Lawson-Greenwood
(6-6, 260, Lincoln; born: April 1, 2000 in Philadelphia, PA) spent last year with the Southwest Kansas Storm (AFL), leading the league with 10 sacks in nine games. He transferred from California (PA) University to San Bernardino Valley College in 2021, recording 43 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and two fumble recoveries in nine games for the Wolverines. He concluded his collegiate career at Lincoln.

Hall (6-1, 245, Harding; born: March 16, 2002 in Houston, TX) played four seasons at Harding University (2021-2024), recording 77 tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss, 25 sacks, three pass breakups, six forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 49 games.

Hall is a big stout body type. Seems to be a tackling machine with an eye for the ball.  I wonder how fast / strong he is in comparison to others on our roster?  LB isn't a particular area of weakness on the Bombers, but depth is important.

In the US he was listed as a DL and outside LB type but at 215 lbs. So not sure where he'll actually get work in TC. He's a bit shorter than I'd like as a DE but if he was speed, strength and good footwork maybe he can be used in multiple roles.

Similar in size to Haba or Garbutt if his wight going into TC is actually 245.

At the moment we have a bunch of candidates at DT but are a little light on actual DE candidates. That said, some of our roster labelled as LB's might be used at times in that role if they make the AR.

both of these look like training camp prospects You have to wonder about guys like Greenwood who couldn't make the regular roster of an ufl team ( Arlington Renegades}

If these guys have speed, good moves, feet and hand work they might be ok

Also need to learn our game quick

Both look good on paper to me but they usually do

Enjoyed your take BinBC

I know nothing about his abilities, but this DE's size is pretty similar to Willie's  ;D

My thoughts as well. At 6'6" 260 lbs, he could play in the UFL no problem, yet he's not...strange

Well it's just the post season wondering about how a given player might fit in based on a minimal amount of information. Every new player could be the next rookie of the year candidate or the 1st cut in TC.

We all hope every player does well. Some look more interesting than others but that doesn't always pan out.

Speculating on how the ratio will pan out and why we think certain players have an inside edge is an interesting discussion.

Example: some posters think Randolph will start at LG. They may be right, but from a ratio point of view I hope it's Wallace. An argument can be made either way but performance in TC and pre season will decide. Heck it could be a rookie import that wins the battle or a 2025 draft choice.

That spot will be a key thing to watch in TC due to the ratio domino. It's a choice that can be made based on performance if we want.
