Not for the wrong Philpot.

The Stamps are trying hard to make as much noise as possible to distract the passengers from the calamity unfolding about them.  "Rumours the ship is about to sink are unsubstantiated and exaggerated!  Please ignore the crew fleeing in lifeboats and carry on as normal.  Please note, free pickles will be added to the buffet in a week or two."

interesting side note was that Mtrl selected Tyson at number 9 vs calgary taking Jalen at 5. Just another example of mtrls draft ability

Stats Junkie

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired American quarterback Jake Maier in a trade with the Calgary Stampeders. In exchange, the Roughriders have sent their eighth-round selection in the 2025 CFL Draft to Calgary. Maier is eligible to become a free agent in February.

8th rounder?  Other than neg list right, is there anything less you can offer?

TC fodder?
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

He's a potential free agent so the Stamps just off loaded him early so the Riders can try to and get him to re-sign. That's not worth a lot per se. It mentioned the pick was conditional so I wonder if the trade value increases if he does sign in Regina?

Noway, this is a smart move by the Riders. If they keep making smart moves they could eventually overcome the advantage the Bombers have held on them the past 5 seasons. The Bombers need to make counter moves to stay ahead.

Not at all, I don't take for granted the Bombers will hold an advantage over them or any other team they've dominated forever.  If they stop moving forward they eventually fall back, just as the Stamps have done.

Can't say I'd qualify acquiring Maier's negotiation rights as a smart move or the Riders moving forward. Maier is a mediocre QB.

Well I would have taken that mediocre Qb in this past Grey Cup game to come off the bench and lead us to victory . I agree, solid move by Riders, as when Harris gets hurt, and he will as he hasn't played an entire season in like forever, Riders won't miss a beat in their dink and dunk game. Maier can do dink and dunk.

Not at all. Aside from Collaros, Maier is far better than anything we have on our roster. I am hoping we have a plan for who our #2 is going to be as last year was a total bust and it cost us big time.

Year two Terry Wilson and Jake Dolegala is night and day better than what we went to camp last year with.

I have little faith in Dolegala, Riders let him walk and BC cut him, his ceiling looks to be below mediocre. I like Terry Wilson but if they don't give him serious game reps to develop they could find themselves in the same position in the playoffs.

It'd be nice to see an OC come in with a different approach, rather than banking on blind luck hoping Zach never gets hurt.
