I hope we do what mtrl does, have 3 lbs look like they are blitzing and drop 2 back at the snap. Keep harris guessing and unable to change play due to crowd noise

Bombers made a lot of interesting moves yesterday, could indicate the direction they're moving on specific players.  Hope to heck they're not moving on from Woods and Adams as they made a positive impact in their first year.  It would also be quite strange for them to give up so quickly on 3 Natl. rookies they drafted recently in Samson, Charbonneau and Hubert, must be some smoke and mirrors in effect.

I think both teams come out doing what got them to this game--the BB will use the run game to setup the play action passing game, and the Riders will use the dink and dunk passing game to setup the run. Decent day weather wise, team that makes fewest mistakes/turnovers wins

A few others:

Woli was moved to 1 game IR not 6 game. I'm not sure if that means he can practice and might be available for GC if we win?

Randolph was moved to PR after being moved to 1 game IR last week. I thought they did that to retain him.

Adams was also moved to PR

It's possible PR players can be re-signed later but the fact the team put them on the PR instead of 1 game IR is interesting: Woods, Cole and Adams

OTOH we move Mitchell to 1 game IR and leave Smith on the PR??

I'm under the impression that everybody on the IR is now SMS exempt. Operational cost but not SMS cost. So why move players off IR unless it's curtains for them when the season is done next week?

Good point on releasing recent draft choices.

MOS likes his Canadians but what you gonna do with a guy Ford.

They'll go after Bonds and maybe Holm and see what will happen. If I were there OC this is what I focus on.

I hope Younger has a few surprises up his sleeve.

Ford's ELC deal is done, no idea what he's going to do but wouldn't be surprised if he tested free agency to see what kind of pay day he could generate.

Quote from: Blue In BC on November 09, 2024, 01:19:59 PMI am concerned that if we can't have some sort of balance in our attack it could be a long day. Oliveria needs to be a force and the Riders are going to try and take that away. That's how teams have beaten us in the past.

I agree we'll see more mid and deep balls to stretch their defence with speed. It might force them off the LOS. It's complimentary football, if the run succeeds it will open up the pass and vice versa.

The key either way is for our OL to play well and keep Collaros upright with some time.

Taking out Woods, Adams and Cole won't make stopping their run game easier. Maybe Ayers has a bigger role on defence this week.

I think I already mentioned that Alexander is about the same size as Cole and we may see him in the box more with Taylor back at safety.

I agree...Taylor and Kelly in two deep safety look with BA in the box.
Everyone is a genius at least once a year. The real geniuses simply have their bright ideas closer together.

bomb squad

The Bombers will need to up their game a few notches from their last two (which were quasi-playoff games) if they want to win. I think they have it in them. We shall see.

Quote from: Zach Schnitzer on November 09, 2024, 02:41:25 PMGreat analysis. I completely agree. Short to medium range passes to open up the Sask run-stopping box, then run Brady to ice the game. I'm worried about their run game though against our paltry D-line

that D line is troublesome.  prove me wrong guys but it looks pretty paltry on paper

Interesting that he's not involved in either of today's games.

As always the Bombers will try to control the clock. Hopefully they get up to 35 minutes in TOP.

Been weak all year and hence the 3 man rush much to many's dismay. Personally I think it's a good strategy against the T-Hare dink dunk. If we had majorly talented DTs and someone opposite Willie it would be different but it's the reality. Our talent is loaded towards the back and that's fine.
