Quote from: ichabod_crane on November 10, 2024, 03:29:58 PMFord may want to try the NFL again if Bombers don't give him a good offer. At least a 2 year deal with guaranteed money is my assumption.

Are not Griffin and Jones on ELC's?

Holm was lights out yesterday, but I know during the season some people were questioning him.

I don't think Ford will be trying the NFL again but a good CFL contract is nothing compared to NFL money. Giving him a 2 or 3 year deal with guaranteed money would be great. I think Kramdi is around $140K but it may cost more for Ford?

Griffin and Jones must be close to ELC deals.

Over under on Streveler wearing a fur coat on the sidelines at the GC? Appears to have lost his shirt yesterday lol.

Rewatching the game this morning.  Holm was a beast.

Quote from: J5V on November 10, 2024, 03:12:42 AMHey Mark! Is that right? Just one sack? Wow! Even they (Riders) must be surprised by that statistic with their D-line. That's truly remarkable. Kudos to the Bomber O-line and the blocking scheme's the Bombers drew up.

according to John Hodge there were no sacks ... 3downnation:

"Winnipeg's offensive line of Stanley Bryant, Liam Dobson, Chris Kolankowski, Patrick Neufeld, and Eric Lofton was sensational on Saturday night, allowing zero sacks. Zach Collaros was pulled to the ground on his first touchdown pass to Kenny Lawler but went virtually untouched for the rest of the game as he consistently had time to make throws deep down the field."

I guess "pulled to the ground "  is what I thought was a sack.

Those guys had a few bad games, but as usual got it together.   I Think our O line coach (Marty costello?)
is top level.

Zack was called for intentional grounding and that is like a sack.

Is there a replay online somewhere? I am not at home right now so did not record it.

From reviewing the game stats yesterday, Bombers gave up ZERO sacks. Collaros threw one into the dirt which they called him for intentional grounding and another one or two he just tossed away to avoid a sack. No lofting up crazy balls to be potentially picked.

Where was the CRYDERS MODP nominee? If he was covering Lawler or even to some degree Demski, he had his lunch eaten left right and centre yesterday! Ford is just as good if not better.

Speaking of the O-line, some of the Rider fans over at Riderfans.com were complaining that our O-line, and specifically Stanley Bryant, were holding on every play. Obviously a bit of frustration at the lack of pressure on Zach.

I didn't see much indecision from Zach in this game. He did a good job of getting the ball out quickly and when he did chuck it deep he did a great job hooking up with his receivers, like Lawler and Demski. Good job by the supporting cast too. Wheatfall made a clutch catch to get us vital first down at one point. Same with Pokey Wilson. Both were money when counted on. Really nice to see.

Let's hope Buck Pierce and the boys can come up with a great game plan for the Argos.
I noticed alot of 6 man line formations today, which obviously helped with protection and giving ZC time to make plays, which he did. Hats off to the recieving corps. Yes, Lawler had a monster day, but the rest did a great job of not dropping any passes. Look how many passes the Riders recievers dropped, big difference there, especially Johnson dropping the one in the end zone. The game could have been alot closer, just glad we have the better recieving corps!!

Could be  Streve's swan song. Wilson claimed his spot for next season rolling off that 48 yard scamper off short yardage! :) Would love to see what his passing game is like beyond pre-season games.  Seems he has a strong arm.

Some drops due to goof ups, others were in traffic and they were hearing footsteps behind them. Lots of rock 'em, sock 'em going on with both defences yesterday. Remember one minor shot of some clown who had Olivera down and pushed him down again as he was getting up. Slight, but I noticed it as they had a close up on the tube. Brady just ignored the idiot.

It's a sack if he still has the ball. Otherwise it's just a hit after the fact.

Quote from: dd on November 10, 2024, 04:05:57 AMI don't blame their fans for blaming their coach. Going for it on 3rd down on their own 24 waits 12 minutes to go was the most ridiculous call I've ever seen in my 60 years watching the game. 12 minutes is an absolute eternity, punt the ball away, get a turnover+which they did, score, which they did, and it's a one score hpgsme. Turn the ball over on downs and now the game is over. Boneheaded call.

Wasn't there a big game south of the border where they had a beast with 4th and goal on the one, and they passed?

But, sure, other than that one, that was pretty stupid.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

You mean the Super Bowl. When Butler picked off Wilson to win the game.

Where's John Lu?  Haven't seen him for many weeks?  Sick?  Quit?  Fired?  I was warming up to him.

Instead, we get Henoc on the sidelines.  He did a good job this time.  Nice coat, too.  Saw him with Hannah at the entrance to Pinnacle pre-game.  My son's like "that dude is huge!".

Haven't seen him since the Jets game vs. the Penguins for Little's retirement on Oct. 20th.

Weird how he's just gone.
