Blue In BC

Finally a game that didn't stop my heart. Led from start to finish and it was never in doubt.

Smart football. Few penalties or mistakes and our OL kept our offence moving winning score, field position and TOP.

Noah Hallett got nicked but he was the only one that didn't return as far as I noticed. That's a bonus.

The difference in the game was our secondary, specifically Ford and Holm on the short side of the field....the dink and dunk was totally shut down by knock downs and our secondary making a play on the ball vs watch Harris play pitch and catch vs a weak secondary. Our secondary is by far the best in the league, by far.

I'll have to re-watch the game. I didn't get the impression they tried to beat Ford very often. He's solid and we need to re-sign him.

Lotsa love to Jordan Younger, Buck Pierce, Mike Miller, and Mike O'Shea. You guys did a phenomenal job getting this team ready for this game. Outstanding!
Go Bombers!

Yes!! I agree! I wasn't shaking at all during this game.

Quote from: DCM on November 10, 2024, 01:37:30 AMPersonally was hoping for a revenge match against Montreal but a GC berth is a GC berth. Handle your own in a week and that's three in five years.

And yes, I fully believe if they win, Collaros rides off into the sunset.

Bombers also have revenge factor for Argos as well from two years ago. PLUS as a franchise they HAVE NEVER BEATEN TORONTO in the Grey Cup if I recall correctly! Time to break all those maddening streaks next weekend! :)

That's just it, they didn't even try to throw to fords guy. They were always throwing to Holmes guy and he just outplayed them. Harris lives by the short pass, especially to the short side of the field. Bombers have ford and holm playing there, that ain't gonna happen, and that was the difference tonight.

agree.

They completely outcoached the other side. demolition.  sometimes I wonder what they are doing. lol.

the shifting Bomber defence was a complete puzzle to the Riders.

and the  players were ready for this game.

I Think Zach was sacked once.

Our special teams gave up a blocked punt as well as got had on a fake punt. Hopefully this motivates them to step it up as Torontos ST is a threat to keep them in the game by scoring and we're going to have our hands full stopping Grant

Jockitch

Kudos to the protection throughout the game
Definitely kudos to the coaching staff

Grey Cup bound vs the Kellyless (tough luck) Argos

And every other sub that they have. Not sure why we left guys in with a couple minutes left.

Sir Blue and Gold

It's official: we own the Riders. We own them here. We own them there. We own them everywhere.

Corey Mace looked like a 12 year old boy.

What a butt kicking. Where's Jayrock? I hope that was a legit enough sellout for him. My ears are still ringing.

Bring on Arrrrrebuckle in the 2007 backup QB revenge cup.

Hey Mark! Is that right? Just one sack? Wow! Even they (Riders) must be surprised by that statistic with their D-line. That's truly remarkable. Kudos to the Bomber O-line and the blocking scheme's the Bombers drew up.

Speaking of the O-line, some of the Rider fans over at Riderfans.com were complaining that our O-line, and specifically Stanley Bryant, were holding on every play. Obviously a bit of frustration at the lack of pressure on Zach.

I didn't see much indecision from Zach in this game. He did a good job of getting the ball out quickly and when he did chuck it deep he did a great job hooking up with his receivers, like Lawler and Demski. Good job by the supporting cast too. Wheatfall made a clutch catch to get us vital first down at one point. Same with Pokey Wilson. Both were money when counted on. Really nice to see.

Let's hope Buck Pierce and the boys can come up with a great game plan for the Argos.
Go Bombers!

TecnoGenius

Just got home.  WOOT WOOT

Good job Bombers.  You did exactly what I predicted you would.  Even the OL stepped up (mega!).  Even Wheatfall stepped up.  D went into smother mode.  SSK was doomed from the 1st Q.

Will have more to say, but this is good enough for now.  I still need to book a few last minute details of my BC trip... hopefully there were more SSK fans pre-booked than WPG fans so that things are still open.

So proud of the team, they did what I wanted and won the W, and that's good enough.  However, I think nothing stops them from winning this cup in a week.
Never go full Rider!
