Would be a weird LDC/BB without both Stan and Yoshi on the field.

If he was sick already all week as they said, then if he rests all of this week he should be good to go this weekend.  I would think they would be pressing to get him back.  Randolph has been lights out at RG, but clearly showed he's no LT (yet?).

You're right, Aards, while he played those first few snaps he basically did his block then stopped: no follow through or energy.  He knew something wasn't quite right.

I'm just glad he's ok.....football is a game and his health takes precedence over and above the game.

Except in the post-season!  ;)  ;)  ;)

My question is WHY WAS HE EVEN STARTING if ill all week?! They must have known this prior to the game and with the weather conditions certainly knew him lasting the game was iffy. Either Stanley did not let on how bad he was feeling or the training staff goofed up here. He lasted what, a series or two? A bit bizarre.

I know what heat and sun stroke feels like. You become dizzy/light headed and lose energy quickly. I did not throw up, but my stomach did not feel too good. Mild heat stroke I cooled off in cool shower for like 15+ minutes to get my body temperature down, at least on the surface. Sun stroke I was laid up for a day. Only bed or similar rest gets you over this and liquids in each case. This is why you must drink more fluids in big heat and WEAR SOME HEAD COVERING!! A hot sun beating down on your scalp is not good for too long! ;)

I think the coaching staff leaves these decisions to the players in a lot of cases when fighting an illness, Stanley probably thought and said he was good to go.

Yeah we each know our own body the best, so he probably thought he could handle it. If training staff saw him up-chucking prior to the game though, then it should have been checked into (and maybe was). I HAVE NO IDEA what occurred pre-game.

I bet he's never had anything like that happen his entire life.  So why would he expect to not be able to handle it now?  He'll probably give it more pause in the future...

I have endured heat stroke coupled with dehyration, collapsed and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  Was up and at it the next day.  I'm not suggesting everyone is the same but the symptoms will likely not linger if treated properly.

He's never missed a game before. He probably has played in the past when he was not feeling well. So he pushed himself further than he was capable of this week. Unfortunate but glad he's feeling better.

I have a few criticisms about OShea but not putting players above the game is not one of them.

No way a team leader and seasoned vet is going to let a little tummy flu stop him from taking the field.  Its not in their psyche. They will tell themselves they can play though it,

And no way that OShea had any idea he was that bad, that's the issue with this kind of illness.  Its not like a hamstring where you can see it affecting the player.  And it can go from "I feel a little off" to puking on the field in very short order.

Add to that, every year that goes by, we get less able to handle the little stuff.  And the little stuff becomes big stuff.  And we have never been in that position before.

Its just good to hear he is on the mend, and hopefully he didn't get anyone else sick.  It would suck having the rest of the oline puking in Regina
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

The thing with prepping to play, is that he's done it all his life.  Y

Getting back to heat stroke, it comes upon. U pretty quick. And then you see stars get wobbly, and could faint.  In my case getting out of the sun getting an intravenous should get. Him back up to speed.

Hopefully nothing else

I am not expecting SB66 to practice tomorrow. I am sure he will be around for the hand shakes and the stretching part of practice. Hell, he might even take over the war cry from AB4. The good news, it's going to be a much cooler week for practice.

Heat stroke can be debilitating, it sneaks up on you and overwhelms your brains ability to think rationally.  It acts like a shut down switch, makes you stop all activity and want to lay down.

The Zipp

Stanley doesn't need to practice much at this point in his career.
