Should we be taking a look at him for depth on the PR? I'm not sure he'd accept that role but he had some impressive games last year and would still be an ELC guy.

We normally keep an import RB on the PR. Smith could be that guy or he may end end up on the AR as a returner? I'll be watching him today to see how he does although we an entirely new OL, I'm not sure we run much and it's not a fair assessment per se.

I do expect we'll see another RB found and added to the PR in the next couple of weeks.

Eh, maybe but not really needed. I like Smith, but if he's not the guy or if Mizzell is an upgrade perhaps. Mizzell does offer a good bit as a receiver

No problem letting Rosery be the RB on the PR this year, no need for an import RB with 4 solid Natls. including MCI. Likely Augustine's last year as a Bomber at the salary he's earning, prep. Rosery as his replacement.

I like this as well. Rosery seems like a flexible guy positionally. Not many of those guys, especially with his passport

I haven't been keeping up with camp and only got to listen to a portion of PS game 1, but I've heard Rosery's name a lot. Sounds like the real deal and perfect NI RB to groom. Let's give him a real shot.

I;m sorry.  I think any player cut from another team is not an answer for us.  We have a solid pipeline, a plethora of NAT starters and backups, and unless someone has a superstar they find that beats out a solid starting MLB with long CFL pedigree, I don't think we are interested.

I think our scouts are great at finding us new talent.  There might be guys we've been eyeing that other teams had on their neg lists, brought in and then cut that we might take a look see at, players that have a certain something our scouts liked for our team, but that we couldn't recruit due to neg list, but those players are few and far between.

Generally, and player not eligible for ELC that is cut should not be on our scopes.

Aren't you one of the posters that always think other teams will scoop up our TC cuts?

Do you realize we originally picked up Lawler after the Lions cut him in Vancouver?  Clement was another player we added after being cut in Edmonton.

Lofton was an add for 2024 although he would be above an ELC but not a high cost addition.

In any case we've had an import RB on the PR last year. As I pointed out, I don't know where Smith ends up. He could be the returner and back up RB on the AR. He could be a surprise cut.

Rosery looked good in his 2 or 3 touches last week and reports from TC. Most probably a development guy.

The question is who is the replacement if Oliveria gets injured both short and long term? In the immediate future, it's going to be Augustine but having an import on the PR is almost a certainty.

Mizzell might not be a guy to look at but he does have some CFL experience and would be an ELC guy.

IMO he doesn't have the explosive quickness or elusiveness of Augustine but that doesn't mean he can't be a useful contributor in many different ways.

Mizzell is a good RB. I think I would wait to see how our players do tonight. I would also like to save any money we have in case a quality experience KR/PR pops up after CFL teams cut down this weekend.

I don't know much about Rosery. He had a few touches last week and looked good. As a Canadian, he has value at the very least. Tonight he might get more of an opportunity but what he's shown in TC is largely unknown to most posters. A few that have gone to practice have suggested he's looked good. So based on that, I'd say he will make the PR until he gains more experience with the team.

Well yes and no. Many were high on a couple of import RB's during TC last year. Cut outright. Chris Smith is getting some good press and we'll see how he does or whether he sticks.

Roster and PR are fixed numbers. So if we add any player to the PR and he has an ELC, then it's a wash financially.

Whether we decide we need another positional player on the PR over a RB could well be. We may add a rookie RB for the PR if we feel we need that depth.

The conversation will continue after rosters are assigned.

I hope Smith runs for 100+ yards today and shows football IQ, speed and elusiveness. I have nothing against keeping him if the team feels he's a good development guy.

There is no replacement in the CFL for BO20. He is one of the top 3 RBs in the CFL and the top Canadian. I think it's important we get a good look at Chris-Ike to see if this kid can run at this level with power. Other then that I would hold off until cuts are made this weekend. Maybe a guy like Hickson shakes loose.

In just this camp the Bombers brought in Josh Vann and defensive back Michael Griffin II who were cut by the Stamps and John Petrishen who was released by the Lions.

Yes and Petrishen has been sounding good. Of course that's true of a bunch of rookies every year that soon get released. I guess we'll see if he makes the AR or PR in the next few days.

As I said, there may be players that our scouts were interested in because they fit our system but could not be recruited because they were on someone else's neg list that, if they get cut, our scouts will want to get them into camp to look at.
