The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have moved Ali Mourtada to the practice roster.

It would appear that Marc Liegghio has won all three kicking jobs.

Ed Tait   @EdTaitWFC
The @bluebombers begin shaping their roster. Among the notable releases: Blake Jackson, who was coming back from an Achilles, RB Kyle Borsa, DT Cole Adamson (returning to the UM); K Ali Mourtada moved to practice roster

The @Wpg_BlueBombers transactions would also indicate the top picks from the last two drafts -- OL Liam Dobson and DB Tyrell Ford -- have made the squad

Derek Taylor   @DTonOB
Dalton Schoen and Donald Rutledge get spots on regular roster (currently).

A little surprised by Valvano's release - he's been taking top reps through camp & preszn games.

Mitchell Blair   @mblairYQR
Bombers cut RB Kyle Borsa. He can return to @reginarams for senior season.

Borsa is a surprise as well. He looked good but I guess no room on the roster and might have not accepted a practise roster spot? Maybe same with Valvano?

Leggio all 3 jobs? On my god help him and us. Schoen I think will be a good one. Rutledge the jury is out to me on him.

Disappointed  Lucky "redgloves" Jackson did not at least make the PR list, wish Prukop would have spent more time in the second game distributing the ball, instead of running it himself.

Borsa could go back to school and try the Bombers again next year, but I suspect if he's happy going to school in Sask. he will probably want to play there as well.  I don't think he will ever be a Demski or Harris but he may become a Chris Normand or Kienan LaFrance, a solid plugger but not a star.

New Bombers on the roster:

Clements, Malik
Dobson, Liam
Ellingson, Greg
Ford, Tyrell
Glass, Tyqwan
Lawson, Cameron
Mack III, L.B.
Prukop, Dakota
Rutledge, Jr., Donald
Schoen, Dalton
Thompson, Malcolm
Wilcots II, Cedric

No real surprises so far.  Schoen looked good both games, so it looks like he gets the last WR spot.

The appear to have kept 8 OL and 8 DL, so I think there are a few guys going to the IR this week.

Roster is going to be fluid for a day or two. At the moment there are 52 players listed on the AR.

1. Briggs and Gauthier off the suspended list now?
2. Noah Hallett and M. Maston need to show on IR. IR will be announced on June 9
3. 3 QB's on AR and 1 will be moved to IR?
4. Too many non starting imports even without Moutada?: Wilcots, Mack, Houston, Clements, McKnight, Richmond and Grant. OTOH we may be starting 8 NI's with Hallett at safety which gives us another import. He wouldn't be a DI, just a non starting import.  Which one that will be is a TBD.
5. Only 1 global on AR which allows one additional Canadian on game day roster.

Barring injury, I think this will be our projected depth chart

Offense
BRYANT / GRAY / COUTURE (Kolankowski) / NEUFELD / HARDRICK
SCHOEN / BAILEY / DEMSKI / ELLINGSON / WOLITARSKY (O-Orange)
COLLAROS (Prukop)
AUGUSTINE (Oliveira, Miller)

Defense
JEFFCOAT (Wilcots) / THOMAS (Lawson) / SAYLES (Walker*) / JEFFERSON
WILSON (Briggs, Cadwallader) / BIGHILL (Clements*, Gauthier, Maruo) / RUTLEDGE (Kramdi)
ROSE (Ford) / NICHOLS / HALLETT (Thompson) / TAYLOR (Houston*) / GLASS

Specialists
Grant*, Legghio, Benson

Reserve: Dobson

I have Grant, Clements, Walker and Houston as DIs but I think the Bombers can get creative there.

There are a few players you aren't accounting so there is still some roster shuffling to be done. Brown, McKnight and Mack still show on the roster but we're 6 over at the moment.

I wasn't expecting McKnight to survive but maybe he's going on IR?

Five DB's on PR? Only 1 receiver on PR depending on what happens with McKnight.

I think MOAB is pretty close.  They always carry a healthy number of DBs, and with Rose still on the mend and Rutledge unproven, I imagine they want some options.  I'm not sure if Neufeld is healthy either.

I think they like Holm as a returner, so that gives some flexibility in how they use Grant.

Trumaine washington cut from Ottawa would sure look good in blue and gold maybe even as safety

It's also possible that the Bombers will carry 8 DLs since they like to make DL fresh to sustain the pressure up front. In that case we can see Wilcots, Walker and Mack all in the lineup in expense of Houston.

The same way they can opt to roster McCrae as 3rd RB / KR.

Hall / Younger might be interested, I believe he led the league in INT last year w/ 5.

Well done. I think again barring injury status MOAB is pretty darn close.
