Well this is to bad, Manitoba shutting down about 6 weeks before Christmas. The whole Province is going RED.

This place is a tire fire and cases continue to rise by the day. After getting big heads in the spring and summer, we've made our beds now thinking we'd beaten the pandemic. Arrogance and ignorance led us to this.

No drought about it.
Still can't fix stupid. Can't quarantine it, either.

We did our best work in the lockdown state, so here's hoping that these measures will result in some success. Big difference is last time there was hardly an 'outbreak' to speak so our starting point couldn't be more opposite.

I agree we are not starting from zero or very few cases this time around. Now a lot of people are going to feel the effects of some very careless people. If you would like to help seniors or people in need there are some great programs out there.

431 new cases in Manitoba with 9 deaths. 252 new cases in Winnipeg, and a TPR of 10.8. Over 200 people in hospital. My wife had to cancel a few of her surgeries for the rest of the week due to covid taking priority and a possible shortage of bed.

Very nasty day today. 239 new cases with 15 more deaths, 11 of them at Maples. 163 of these cases are in Winnipeg, with a TPR of 13.1%. I am not surprised that this is happening at Revera run buildings.

My mother had a short stay at one of Revera's nursing homes. She was in a wheelchair but the rooms are not setup for people in wheelchairs. The staff was over worked, and under staffed. The manager blew us off as much as they could and gave us generic answers. The first few months she was there a number of people died.  We decided to move her to a smaller private nursing home. Best move we ever made.

The US. had 184,000 new cases yesterday.

If this doesn't improve this week, prepare for a school shutdown.

Well it's not going to improve a ton after one week under the new rules. However I do see more restrictions coming. A lot of the schools in the city are moving to 2 day in classroom per week on Monday.

I think we are going to be seeing Wpg numbers decline and Southern numbers soar above Wpg in a week or less.
