Round 3 with Calgary.  Zach Collaros to start at QB with Streveler out for this game.  Should be interesting on several fronts.

In for the Bombers:  36 Maston, 16 Jones,, 18 Knight
Out for the Bombers:  39 Rios, 22 Fenner, 17 Streveler

Cordarro Law is a DE not a LB.

A number of challenges with Streveler out. Our short yardage won't be automatic. We need to find a new field goal holder which sucks.

I am not to worried about our short yardage, McGuire can take care of that. But holding for Medlock mite be an issue. Where is WD7 when you need him.

Why do I remember McGuire doing that early this season? I could be wrong.

Cutting Brian Bennett comes back to haunt them, he offered so much more utility than McGuire does.  He could run well, he had a good arm and could throw with accuracy, he earned Medlock's approval as a holder and added a threat in fake FG situations, he played ST and made some smashing tackles.  He was athletic enough that he probably could have played receiver in a pinch.  He did everything asked of him and they still decided to cut him for rookie McGuire, who touched the field only one time after Medlock fired him as his holder early in the season for screwing up holds.

Didn't understand the decision then, don't understand it now.

Excited about Maston back, interesting to see Fenner pulled this game.

It's simple, the BB view the 3rd string QB as a development spot. A couple years in, if Bennett wasn't going to be good enough to pass Strev on the depth chart, then they wanted to try and find someone who, in their opinion, might have a higher ceiling.

Cut the crap. Bennett is a complete unknown in real regular season games AS A QB. No way he could cut it as a receiver, and wasn't worth keeping solely for special teams.

Sk has won a single game this year thanks to having him on the roster.

Bennett has never really received his chance. Last year he had great value for us. I didn't like that move, and now Mcguire doesn't even play.

I agree he never really got a solid chance but the fact that they had him covering kicks tells you what they thought of his value as a QB.

LOL this makes me laugh, the Bombers have about as much intention of systematically exploring McGuire's "ceiling" as they did with Dom Davis or the dozens of other QB's that have walked through their dressing room doors in the past decade and disappeared shortly afterwards into the ether.  Being the 3rd string QB for the Bombers is kind of like being a cashier at 7-11, they may tell you that you are in line to become store manager but they offer no courses or training to do so, it's learning by osmosis.  They know you'll eventually quit anyway.  Cheesy

Throws a great looking ball....can he function as a QB - no idea but love watching him throw.

We have one QB who is a utility-type player. We didn't need 2 on the roster.
