I think Regina paid for most of that salary upfront.  Shouldn't effect SMS much.

If O'Shea goes to Toronto than he can take Nichols with him. As long as we get Condell as our HC and Masoli as our QB.

Good luck with that.

You don?t think Condell would leave a coordinator position for a head coach job?

It's more than zero. We were only paying 2 QB's on the AR after Nichols went on 6 game IR.

IIRC he got about $250K of his $450K salary up front. If we put him on the AR that would suggest abut $11K per game X 3 = $33K.

He shows on our AR at the moment.

If my suggestion of $33K is correct that's a decent amount of signing bonus money at the end of the season to prevent one of our players going to free agency.

It shouldn't affect SMS much. We already had Nichols salary off because he's on the 6 game IR. At most we'll pay Collaros for three games.

Having Nichols off the books is irrelevant. We have a bunch of players on the 6 game IR not counting against the SMS.  We have to pay SMS for Collaros for the rest of the season.

Which Would you take: 1. HC with a team with no G.C. winning QB.
or   2. Assistant HC(which is what he will get if we win the Cup) with a Grey Cup
                                      team.

Hey now...

You also implied believing Sanchez showed a distinct lack of common sense and look how that turned out.

I didn't imply anything, I flat out said that Sanchez is a broadcaster, not an insider, and what just speculating on what he thinks the Bombers should do, not telling us what they are doing.

I still believe that 100%

And there is no situation in which sign Collaros is worth a 1st round pick.

Unless we're insiders how could we know how plugged in he is? Whatever he is or isn't he was absolutely right that the Bombers were dealing with Toronto for a QB regardless what O'Shea or the team said.

I never said that Collaros is worth a first round pick...frankly I don't think he's worth a 3rd rounder to be brought in more for optics than practicality. At this point I'd rather see what McGuire could do...but given the decision making history of the organization it sure as heck wouldn't surprise me to find out they decided to go that way...especially if Nichols bails in the off-season.

Not Coach O. when June Jones was HC. He was offered HC jobs from other CFL teams.
Same with Coach Dickinson with Calgary.

We have SMS room and not in a cap hell by any means.

we have highly-paid guys who were in the 6-games... and we cut Matthews. Even before we have reserve $ for NFL cuts.

OK, 2 examples that are the exception. You would have had a point if Condell had as snowball's chance of becoming HC in Hammy anytime soon, as was the case for Dickensen in Calgary where he was very clearly being groomed.

Unless they're happy on just being coordinators, 99% of them will vie to be head coaches where openings are available. It's a small league with limited chances for that opportunity. I doubt he's so loyal to Hammy.
