I'm not surprised at all by Winston Rose's performance this year. In a very conservative Mark Washington defence he still was among the league leaders in INTs last season. In Hall's defence ball hawks thrive because he gives them more carte blanche to position themselves to ball hawk than many DCs.

Arguably?Huh

Randle was clearly on the downturn of his career here. He's been torched in Ottawa, so bad in fact, he's been a healthy scratch there.

That's a no doubt about it, big time upgrade.

I wrote "arguably" loosely because I was concerned about getting flamed by those who still think it was a bad move (probably none of those left). I obviously think it's clear it's a significant improvement.

I did not know Randle was a healthy scratch in Ottawa though- yikes! Dodged a bullet there. Walters really got the best-before date right on him.

I thought Rod Hill had 5 interceptions in one game?

I love what Rose has been doing this year.

Just had to add to all these juicy stats...

Most Interceptions, one season

15 - Al Brenner (1972)
14 - Less Browne (1990)
13 - Roy Bennett (1987)
12 - Larry Crawford (1983)
12 - Gerald Bess (1984)
12 - Paul Bennett (1985)
12 - Less Browne (1985)
12 - Terry Irvin (1986)
12 - Rod Hill (1989)
12 - Rod Hill (1990)
12 - Ryan Phillips (2007)

Thx wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadian_Football_League_records_(individual)

1990 was a hell of a year for BB DBs Hill and Brown.

Update to my previous stat graphic

Tom Casey had a streak of 5 consecutive games with an interception in 1952. In those same 5 games, Casey recorded 10 TDs - 7 receiving, 2 rushing, 1 KO Return.

After his TD streak came to an end October 6, 1952, Casey finished the season with another 6 TDs in the final 3 games - 3 receiving, 2 rushing, 1 Interception return.
