Really people get that excited for a punter?
I do when they are really good. He'll do more than that. I realize you weren't a Bomber fan yet when Ryan was in the CFL, but he is a top notch punter. When he was here before he was easily the best punter I had ever seen, and I watched Bobby Cameron for 20 years.
Bob was the best all weather punter I have ever seen. Yes Ryan's leg is incredible but Bob could punt in the cold and wind as good any anyone. I hope he comes back as it would be cool to see him again.

During the two years Ryan was here, he was literally the only reason fans would get out of their seats to applaud.
that's pretty sad, lol... much have been a couple or really lean years... How else did he get so good at punting?!?!
that's pretty funny... yet makes a lot of sense... lol...

I remember Ryan absolutely crushing a couple of 70(ish) yard punts, and not all were wind assisted. So, yeah, as excited as you can get about a punter, he would be the one you'd get excited for.
Fair to say you were "over the moon"?

Yes field position is very important. I would ,appreciate my QB, Oline and receivers and RB getting the field position

I wonder how much money those teams can afford to pay Ryan if they get him.

Based on his long NFL career, it's not about money, just loves the game.
I think he would only be in the $80K - $90K range.

Ryan's home, I believe, is in Seattle. BC needs a kicker so he could go there and be close to home.

Just because he has money doesn't mean he doesn't want money. I can understand a player wanting to continue his career. In this situation where he has " money " does he want to move away from home and family for 6 months for CFL money? Sure he could move his family from his multi million $$ home in Vancouver, or he could buy another multi million dollar home in Vancouver. It's one thing to do that in the NFL when the contract is millions and goes with the territory. I'm not so sure the desire to play overrules the business sense though. Would like to see him back. Vancouver makes sense because of proximity to Seattle. It's just a guess though.

Signed by the riders....released Bartel...seems kind of dumb
From Twitter: I can also confirm that punter Jon Ryan has signed with the #riders. Josh Bartel has been released according to #cfl transactions. News of @JonRyan9's signing was first reported by @rodpedersen.

I doubt Ryan cares too much about money but you're crazy if you think Ochocinco earned less or the same as Ryan over the course of his career
