With no QB ya need a good ground game Smiley

Just what the Riders need, another running back! At least this one is a CFL guy.

Since the other thread just got closed, in regards to going over the salary cap I believe the first 100K over it's not too bad in a matching dollar for dollar fine. Over 100K then you start losing draft picks + higher fines. Can't seem to find any references online to this information offhand for exact details.

Definitely not a vacant position...but the Riders running game never scared anyone last year....even with a few big plays it was far from consistent.  Always liked Powell...

But no QB...maybe Collaros comes back.

That comes out to 725,000 per year! What's Ed Hervey smoking on the left coast?! Wink

1 for 1 to 100K
2 for 1 to 200k (and a draft pick)
3 for 1 to 300K (and 2 draft picks)

Not sure how it goes from there.

But I agree...up to $100K is a simple business decision....

Pretty sure that's it. Every dollar 300k plus is just $3:1

Reilly is durable but he's not invincible either.   The year they traded Nichols to Wpg. he missed the first 7 games due to injury.   He came back though to lead the Esks to a GC and was the MVP in that game!   Signing Chungh will help their O-Line

Farhan always has the contract numbers for other team's signings.

Never seems to include his BC Lions numbers

Would those draft picks be the team's first rounders? In the over 300K case their following two season's first round picks?

The $100k just dollar for dollar fine is only 2% of budget... usually kept in reserve in case of calculation errors / disputes.

Even $300k with loss of DPs is only 6%...
