Transactions May 7th
2019-05-07 WPG HUMPHREY, Myles N Delete From Active Free Agent 2019-05-07 WPG HUMPHREY, Myles N Add To Active Roster
I'm not sure what was going on here but Humphrey is an International linebacker that was released by the Giants on May 6th. I think the Bombers may have added him to their neg list.

The transactions are confusing the year. I don't know if he got added or deleted or to what. In the past neg lists were not published so I wouldn't expect to see transactions of that happening. This transaction sounds like the normal transaction where a player that was signed has now been released. However we aren't aware he was ever signed to begin with, so it's a puzzle. In the NFL he was listed as a DE. In the CFL he might be able to play DE or LB I suppose.

I stand by everything I said including that you have no understanding of the context. Scouting has been a bone of contention by many posters for several seasons. Until they succeed in areas they have previously failed, why would I automatically give them a " pass " on success?
Doing the same thing and expecting different results?
Did they find a top receiver this season? Maybe, it's going to take awhile to know with any certainty.
You want to blow blue smoke up their wahzoo? Fine. You want to / you will take your shots at everybody that isn't positive about everything again this season? Yah right.
I never mentioned the scouts you did. Again you continue to keep distracting from the topic. Consider posting with more respect in the future rather than just getting angry when people present the other side of argument. To review, you showed little support for Temple, I and other suggested you jumped the gun. That is all. I shall now disconnect from you again it's clear you have no interest in debate, simply trying to make me look bad. I will take the high road and suggest that we agree to disagree as per below. Fair enough but at least IMO I've tried to support my opinion. You haven't offered much more than he looked good in TC 2017 and wanting to give the scouts benefit of the doubt.
So we'll agree to disagree and see what happens in TC.
I am in similar opinion as GCn18, he has done a much better job in articulating his thoughts on the subject. I suggest re-reading what he posted over the last few pages. There is logic and merit in allowing a player a 2nd chance before writing him off like you suggested we do. Thank you.

The scouts have not earned any smoke blown up their butt and totally deserve criticism for previous years recruitment. However, judgement cannot possibly be made on this year's class of recruits, nor Nick Temple, as of yet. My expectations are not high based on previous year's for our recruiting class, but I feel it would be ignorant if I dismissed them without seeing them play first. All I'm saying is reserve judgement until TC and see what we've got. There will be plenty of time to ginsu the scouts afterwards and at least it will be informed.
Truth and wisdom posted above, I am in full support of this. Great post.

He might be a good candidate. The question is if he was just cut in the NFL on May 6, how did we release him on May 8. It would make sense if he was released from the neg list. However wouldn't his new status as a free agent be more of a reason to try and bring him to the CFL? Plus we haven't seen neg list changes even deletions shown on the transaction page before. Perhaps they contacted him and he said he'd never consider the CFL. An odd coincidence in timing at the least. DL is not an area of weakness but he might still have been worth a look.

BTW. Nevis is back on the roster today There are not going to be many roster spots for any rookies to start or even make the AR. Roster looks pretty good with veteran acquisitions and / or 2nd year players primed to take open spots. 1. WIL. Wilson probably ends up as the starter but there will be competition. 2. I expect a LB as a DI but we have no returning players, so we'll see a rookie back up. 3. Secondary likely doesn't have a rookie starting. Pretty solid group 4. I expect a DB as a DI. Humes and Cooper were both here in 2018. A chance one becomes a starter pushing a veteran, or a pure CFL rookie shines in TC. A DI spot for someone more likely early season. 5. Receiver is where we might see rookies. Thompkins may or may not have a lock to start. So 2 changes possible although not necessarily rookies fighting for spots. Three returning PR receivers may push for a role. 6. A returner? Barring injury and what happens with the ratio, I only envision 5 or 6 import rookies making the AR. Figuring out the 2018 and 2019 draft choices is more difficult. Most will be around or DR, IR or PR. Shaping up pretty nice for this point of the season.
