Most of big punt returns have some sort of hold or IB within the return that was missed. Calling holding on a snapped play from centre is relatively easy compared to moving downfield on the run to cover a play that's moving very fast in the open field, with officials farther away from the play than the Ump and Ref are, hence, things get missed. And players know this....

SSK players do.  WPG players don't have the memo yet.  MOS's guys play very honest, and that's fine, but it's a disadvantage against a perennial cheater team.

I think the key to ST holding/IB is to just not do it on the gunners, nor on the point of attack unless there's a ton of guys around.  But away from the ball every single ST blocker should be holding their guy like crazy.  And since someone being held can't reach the point of attack, you effectively neutralize that defender.

SSK has perfected this to a fine art, as return game and D is all the have to try to win games with.

Officials MOST of the time, get the block on the back on the gunner at the point of possession, again most of the of the time. Where they miss the foul is the hold on the next block. Are missed holds and blocks on the back challengeable?? I guess even if they are they could almost challenge every punt return
