But they traded Gable away... to Edm... and now signed Edm's RB...
They traded Gable last season. I'm not sure what you're getting at

Why? Their only import RB is Green and he only has 6 games CFL experience.

Green is good, one of the reasons they moved on from Gable.

Maybe but 6 games doesn't entrench a RB in the CFL. Gable was a pending free agent and a potential SMS savings at the time by switching to Green.

As it turns out Gable re-signed with Edmonton so they seemed to have come away winning that transaction.

Green may be the next Gable but not yet.

It's well known that Gable is a top blocking RB and is a very productive runner and pass receiver.

So is White... and you don't ever plan on the one RB you have lasting all year, that position is too prone to injury. Unfortunately, White seems to have all kinds of trouble staying healthy too, but he's honestly one of the best, if not the best, pure runners in the league when he's on the field

So with DB's Aaron Grymes, Johnny Adams and Arjen Colquhoun likely out for the game, that's significant. Their secondary was already their weakness and this should certainly make it easier for Strev to find some open receivers.

Also, REC Bryant Mitchell out is important. Allows Bombers to focus a little more on shutting down Derel Walker. Hazelton and Duke Williams are OK, but not elite IMO.

ALS SIGN FORMER FIRST OVERALL PICK EKAKITIE

MONTREAL - Less than a week after he was cut, former first overall pick Faith Ekakitie has been scooped up by the Montreal Alouettes on a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.

Good luck to him. He could beat out Fat Boy Thomas!

I wonder if Ekakitie was offered a P.R. spot with the Bombers?  Guess we'll never know unless someone asks Mike.

I doubt he was offered a PR spot, better just to cut losses and move on.

He may have a chance to blossom in Montreal, time will tell.

Maybe, but they do have extra PR spots and Jake becomes a F.A. again next year, so they'll face the same scenario unless Marouf comes back and sticks.

RT .@danralphcp

Am hearing former #CFL all-star DB Delvin Breaux might be returning to Canada, likely w/  #Ticats . Breaux played with Ticats from 2013-14 before joining NFL's New Orleans Saints and playing with them the last three seasons. He's currently a free agent.
