two grey cups back to back same province . They should have looked at that. Oh well. Calgary could put on a good show. Probably have to add seats.
They did exactly the same thing in 2009-10.

More disturbing is this must mean CGY isn't thinking about a new stadium for at least another 6+ years. Why host a GC in the old dump if you're going to build a new stadium soon after?
(I've never been to McMahon so I can't comment... though I'll go there if BB are in the cup that year!)
2006 Canad Inns was a dump, 2013 Taylor Field was a dump. Yes, McMahon is also a dump, but the stadium venue is such a minor part of a Grey Cup experience, its 3-4 hours out of a 4 day adventure. Calgary always knows how to throw a good party.

Yes the "go" train make sit easier to get to. Just after the Grey Cup last time it was pretty quiet downtown..Friday was nutzo. Edmonton hospitality was lined up for two blocks!

Yes, and without the cool downtown Montreal surroundings.
Wow, that sucks for CFL fans in Calgary.

Wow. Great for the CFL to reward a city for doing nothing about its stadium issues. Now I was there years ago for Esk/Stamps Labour Day game. I had no problem with the stadium in fact felt it had a nice environment and feel to it. But that was back in the 70s!

Seriously??? McMahon has an excellent location in relation to downtown and the university.
McMahon is close to the Uni, but neither of them are anywhere near downtown. It's a relatively long C-Train ride. Definitely out of the way, and definitely - by far - the worst stadium in the league right now.

Agreed that McDump is an embarrasment. Thankfully though that city does support the game when held in Calgary.

How would you define where the Bombers stadium is located ?.....it's not downtown....it's a long Viscount bus ride (lol)...and it's pretty much out of the way of anywhere worth going after a game....

As I said, Canad Inns and Mosaic were dumps in 06 and 2013 and they got to host Grey Cups.

Absolutely. Our location sucks no doubt. The facility is great, but would?ve been so much better at the old location, or at Assiniboine Downs (Red River Ex grounds).

I?ve never been there so I can?t be sure. However, at least the teams are on opposite sides of the field. How can Hamilton build a brand new facility and still have a shared sideline?! It looks like a flag football venue.

Calgary is waiting for the winter Olympics and then let the federal government build them a new one. They put a bid in so could get one in 4 to 12 years.

Honestly - the way things are going with our federal government, I don?t think Calgary is waiting on anything from the feds. If anything, they are planning western separation after bankrolling the east for decades and being slammed by Ottawa in response.
