Cool little tribute to the local homegrown talent.... lots of Manitobans on the Blue right now - Harris, Demski, LaFrance, Miles.

Maybe the Bombers are going to use a similar model to the Als and Riders.

In some defesive sets, especially if we ran some 3-4 fronts he would do pretty well as an inside guy..When he was in T.O he started for about 12 games and did quite well.

Was actually shocked when I figured out he was the Miles from UofM...I actually thought he was a rookie import at that time

I'm a big fan of Miles and I think he's better than Sam Hurl.  But he's not a guy I would want to rely on for an extended period of time as a starting MLB...especially on a team with Grey Cup aspirations.

Will be a great MLB backup to Muamba.

If that were the case it would be hard to explain why Miles was never given the opportunity to replace Hurl last season for even a single game when it was obvious Hurl was deficient. I don't recall Miles on the field at all except on S.T., he appears to be below Briggs on the depth chart.

While I dont love Miles as a starting MLB, that argument is actually not that great. Hurl was MOS and Halls guy. He was way more familiar with the systems and Miles never was even considered for any role besides STs. As for Briggs, I think he's more of a Wil

Great marketing. The Bombers are going to kill it with this angle this year I think.

Yes, and it felt like a chore going to most games.

ouch.....that season reminded me of the season ?Black Magic? Joe Zaleski took over after Bud Grant left to coach the Vikings....not pretty and in all 3 seasons coaching us his best year was 4 wins.....a low point in Bomber history following the glory days of Bud Grant......I had to adjust my fandom a tad!

He means contention. We can have aspiration all we want, but we've had some awful teams for many years up until around Nichols took over.

Thank you, and yes, "aspirations" probably wasn't the best word to use in that context.  Pretty sure no one in Bomber management in 2013-14 realistically expected we would be contending for a Grey Cup those years.  In 2018, I think this is the best, most balanced roster we've had in recent memory.

I was a season ticket holder in 2013 and that was definitely a year where it was harder every week to go to the games.

As does any team who's starting QB is Drew Willy.

Weren't Justin Goltz and Jason Boltus our starting QBs in 2013?  Willy was a massive upgrade on those guys, which is quite telling of just how sad 2013 was.

I di=sagree. I think Goltz was better than Willy.  Goltz played some good games . I liked his style. When he scored a=gainst Sask he would adjust his tie. Like a lot of quarterbacks in Winnipeg , not many got a good chance.

That's about all he was good at. Goltz threw 3 TDs and 7 picks in his career. We released him and nobody else touched him. Say what you want about Drew, but he's been in the league for seven seasons, thrown for almost 9100 yards and 40 TDs on 31 picks across three organizations. Not as good as the greats but certainly better than the literally hundreds of Justin Goltz' out there that blew up the second they got the ball.

We can definitely agree to disagree.  Willy isn't very good, but he is miles better than Justin Goltz.

You're right. Willy's first season here was also O'Sheas and yes while Willy didn't work out he was definitely an upgrade over what we had.

Nothing was worse than in 1998 under Reinebold with TJ Rubley as our QB.  Getting our first win of the season in dramatic fashion in week 11 felt like winning the Grey Cup and we treated Troy Kopp like he was our saviour.  What a joke that was.

the three years from 67-69 we?re still a low point as far as this team....we averaged 3.3 wins per season in that time frame.   I used to follow the games religiously hoping that at least we put up a decent effort....

I believe Goltz was picked up by a couple teams after us.  One being BC, and either Hamilton or Toronto?

I know it?s easy to get mixed up with all the talented QBs we?ve had over the years but I think you?re thinking of Alex Brink.

Goltz went on to play with the Seattle Seahawks, NY Giants and Dallas Cowboys (well, at least in Old Spice and Tide pod commercials).

Goltz played a year in Edmonton as their short yardage QB, after the Bombers cut him. Goltz was a pretty good short yardage QB but that?s it.

Yup - he played for the Esks for a season but did not record a single stat that year.  No passes, no rushes.

Agreed. I can't see him as anything more than a backup/depth player and STer.

Yes, and it felt like a chore going to most games.

The IGF Inaugural Game and the Banjo Bowl aside, 2013 was a brutal season to be a ST holder.

As does any team who's starting QB is Drew Willy.

Weird. Drew Willy was a backup QB with the Riders in 2013.

I think Goltz was better than Willy.

Utter nonsense.

What kind of monster are you? Life is difficult enough for people who have to live with disabilities. The last thing they needed was to watch that despicable, joke of a team play.

LOL Cheesy

Donating tickets during the 2013 season could've qualified as a hate crime, regardless of the recipient.

That was Elliot.  Goltz was in Edmonton on their PR for parts of 2014-2015
