Fogg is back according to TSN. Great news for our PR game.

Nice.  I was just watching the highlights from the BC game and thinking "It'll be too bad if he's not back, now that we've more or less learned how not to get penalties on punts....."

That being said, I still really want Finch.

With Fogg back, we may be seeing a door closing for Lankford.

I really don't see where he fits if we sign Demski.

I think that's a good move. Decent experience and provides depth at a number of positions. A great punt returner. He's in his prime. He probably wasn't that expensive. Good signing.

I don't see one impacting the other. I think we sign Demski tomorrow.

Demski can handle KR duties. Most of Lankford's worth was tied to him being a KR as well as a WR. I think the writing on the wall for Lankford came when we replaced him with Givens last year. That pretty much indicated to me that he was done as a Bomber.

Fogg got roasted at times last season. This is a very meh type signing. Hoping it?s for the league minimum and no guaranteed money.

My bad! I got confused. You were comparing Langford and Demski, weren't you? Sorry about that. I agree with that. I thought you meant Fogg and Demski.

Fogg is one of the best, if not the best, PR in the CFL. That's what makes this a good signing for our club. As a DB, he's at best an emergency in game fill in but that isn't why he was re-signed.
Assessing his signing on the strength of his DB play is like assessing the re-signing of Medlock on his punting abilities or assessing Roy Finch on his ability as a RB.

GOOD SIGNING...versatile and good on teams. Sure he got beat a bit last year...but hey join the club in that aspect...he played well his rookie year...so maybe last year again was part of an abberation due to what was going on....thta's what training camp is for and if anything he makes a good 6th db on the roster..back-up sam...returner

Winnipeg has extended American defensive back and return man Kevin Fogg for the 2018 season, according to Winnipeg Free Press beat man Jeff Hamilton.

The 27-year-old has played 33 games making 108 tackles, six interceptions, three forced fumbles and one sack over two seasons as a Bomber. Fogg doubles as a returner he had 61 punt returns for 716 yards and one touchdown in 2017.

The #Bombers have signed DB @FoggWith2Gz to a one-year deal. Nothing else to report at this time. Doubt Winnipeg will announce names of players set to hit free agency tomorrow. #wfp

Agreed. Not a fan of this. Like him as a returner. Not as a DB.

As a backup DB I guess we could do worse.  As a returner, he had a great rookie season, but in my opinion he took a step back in 2017.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-sign defensive back Kevin Fogg

WINNIPEG, MB., February 12, 2018 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has re-signed international defensive back Kevin Fogg to a one-year contract. Fogg was scheduled to hit free agency tomorrow.

Fogg has spent the past two seasons in Winnipeg since joining the team as a free agent prior to the 2016 season. Playing in 33 games during that time, Fogg has registered 108 defensive tackles, one sack, six interceptions and three forced fumbles.

He has been a threat returning punts, amassing 67 for 775 yards in 2017 with an 11.6 yard average, one touchdown (Oct 14 vs BC), and four returns of over 30 yards.

I think he's being signed as a returner, not Heath's replacement at halfback.

You might be right, his average was down by about 3 yards per kick, and then there were all those TDs that were called back which made him look a lot more explosive.

I was just going by what I saw...didn't know if the stats backed that up or not.

I like this a lot. We have a number of guys with experience who have started games and have had some ups and downs in Fogg, Gaitor, and Clarke. Now instead of last year when you?re handing. The reigns to multiple rookies, we can have them battle it out and see where they best fit.

Of course, there is still lots of talent out there to consider in FA, but I like that Walters is planning for different scenarios and getting depth at good value.

Re-signing anyone us fans weren't complaining about is good news to me.  Besides the odd gripe in '17, no one was really complaining about Fogg.

Good signing.

Good signing. He's a solid return man (shades of Jovon Johnson with us) . He may not always break the big return, but he's good with the football in his hands. Also, he filled in nicely for Moe late in the season at a very difficult position.

Anyone that is against this signing is off their rocker, he can do many things for the ball club, is he excellent at all of them?, no.  Is he is a great depth signing and ST player?, yes.

pj, there you go again throwing around those extreme words, like 'excellent'.... lol

I like Fogg and think he is a very good return man, unless we get his return called back, lol... he's a good DB but I doubt that he ends up starting... and if that is the case I would rather had someone else absorb those return duties to allow for more cap space for a MLB or DL, preferably a national... but with that being said, he for sure doesn't hurt the team at all. Maybe Demski, Givens, or even LDW possibly fill the return role...
