My confidence on what Walters or O'Shea say about our MLB's is just about zero. Maybe in year 5 they figure it out.
Anyways...Greg Jones intrigues me. But I think he?s only an option at MLB, not WIL.

Seriously? I doubt he's ahead of Briggs. Briggs saw the field more often in some defensive sets.

Briggs is a WIL in my opinion, not an MLB.  Miles is an MLB.

So, we have experienced depth at WIL and MLB.  Thanks...

Yes but experience doesn?t automatically = legit starter. We?d be in trouble if we had to rely on Briggs or Miles as a starter for an extended period of time.

With your logic, Remple gives us WR experience. Oh yeah, and Flanders gives us REC experience. I understand that sure, them getting playing time can count as experience. But I think me, gbill and everyone else calling for experience want guys who have e consistently started. Not just a 7 game span or on 3rd downs every other series

Losing ANY starting player for an extended period of time is problematic.  See Leggett / Westerman / Nichols / Adams last year...  but you do the best you can with the roster you make.  Today's roster is much better suited to replace any of the players I mentioned.  Fenner >  Fogg at SAM,  Westerman's loss was a ratio clusterfudge, Durant > Feve/Davis, Bowman > Denmark...

Miles and Briggs are solid players, and while they aren't Wild or JSK, they will not be out of place if they are needed to start.  And, if they do start, we get 4 Int WR... which makes us better on O...

Remple is a specialist who, in an extreme pinch could line up at WR and run a route.  Not the same thing as Miles having 7 MLB starts under his belt.

How do you propose backing up every position with a veteran player who has consistently started at that position?  If they are a starter, then they are on a roster as a starter, getting starter pay.  Otherwise, if they are a vet, they are no longer a starter and winding down as a backup, or a young player earning their way to starting.  Having a team with 2 experienced starting players at each starting position is insane.  You can have a few of those (Durant, Roh, Fogg, Neufeld last year), but more than that is just a pipe dream.

I'm proposing bring a guy into camp to compete for a spot. If he earns one, great. If not, see ya later.

Ards is moving on from a must sign of Jake Thomas to the idea that Miles could be a good starting MLB

You have obviously not watched any SK football games from last year. Muamba was an excellent player making plays all over the field. Tons of speed, solid tackler, usually in good position, etc.

Buckzumhoff = Joe Mack's secret BB forum handle?

I watched a lot of football. I even watched him play for Indy on third down conversions where they used him sparingly. He didn't win top defensive player award on his own team. Hes a Canadian and Sask is trying to let him go. Hey if you can get him for about 140 -150 then maybe. Otherwise Id look into why Saskatchewan is letting him go, I think he was outplayed by the other linebackers Sask has.

However, he was named as the Riders' Most Outstanding Canadian.

Well I suppose on how you look at it. He's the best or 2nd best at the role he provides in the kicking game as LS.

LS is a critical role. So I wouldn't really hesitate to consider his specialist role as a top Canadian.

Not talking starter, people were commenting that we have nothing behind JSK, no one with experience...

Miles has experience, and has the right passport to be a backup, not using up a DI spot, and is a special teams demon... I have no issues with depth at LB...

Not what they were saying at all, and they even explained that to you over a page of posts. The debate was whether or not Miles is a starting calibre MLBer, not whether he is experienced. For some reason you think they are the same thing.

Please tell me which other MLBer outperformed HM on the Riders?
