The Edmonton Eskimos have also released the following players from the active roster:

National offensive lineman Danny Groulx
National defensive back Cauchy Muamba
International defensive lineman Marcus Howard
International defensive lineman Phillip Hunt

Groulx really surprises me. He?s a recent first round draft pick.

Edmonton has a good pass rush  and I think him and I think its Howard and him  who blew past our o-line last year quite a bit. Okpalaugo and Jeffcoat were our best. Eve=n Westerman doesn't run as well as those two.

Howard is interesting. But we already have Okpalaugo and Jeffcoat.

Yeah, that never happened. That last time Hunt dressed and faced the Bombers was in 2016.

4-5 years ago we would have been salivating over Groulx.

Groulx was set to become a free agent, so he must have made it clear that we wasn't returning.  Comment on esksfans suggests that when they signed Beard, they essentially made their choice between the two.

Twitter is speculating he?ll end up in BC.

Totally pass on Hunt without a doubt. Howard would be interesting, but with TO and Jeffcoat there really is no starting role for him here.

Groulx was a blue chip prospect that just didn't play very well in all honesty. He was extremely inconsistent with the Esks, and they obviously have run out of patience. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery...who knows.

I would sign Howard for depth if he came cheap.

They might be able to lure Shayon Green back for a 3rd year on the P.R., that would be a cheaper option as Howard won't accept a P.R. position.

I wouldn't sign Howard for the PR. I would sign him as a rotational DE...and a very good one at that.

I can't see this being cost effective.

Of course, this is me hoping that Westerman is back and we already have one of TO or JJ to rotate in.

I think Howard would come cheap. He's a reclamation project now.

No surprise in them dropping Cauchy, he's brutal, always has been.

Hunt is well past his prime and we currently have much better talent on our team, pass.
