I wonder if three separate stints for the same team (Riders) is a record?
Leon Hatziioannou accomplished this in one season - 1988

-   Drafted by Ottawa Rough Riders and spent training camp in Ottawa.
-   Played 2 games for Winnipeg (Jul 21 & Jul 29)
-   Spent 1 week on Ottawa's practice roster mid-August
-   Returned to Winnipeg and played 3 more games (Aug 24 - Sep 4)
-   Claimed off waivers by Ottawa and played
-   Traded back to Winnipeg for Roy Dewalt
-   Played the last 4 games of the regular season, 2 playoff games & Grey Cup

All told, Hatziioannou played 9 games for Winnipeg and 5 games for Ottawa (regular season games)

I hope the Bombers sign him, as he's a huge upgrade from what we have right now as backup. If we wait long enough, Hamilton will sign him as their backup, or Montreal as their starter, or Toronto will sign him the second Ray retires. Not sure why we are waiting, as if we wait long enough, he will go, no doubt.

Bringing Glenn in as backup again would be a smart move for the Bombers. I have more confidence that he could win games than our other two QB's.

Wow.  Short term thinking.  Hard to develop a QB on the PR

Also hard to develop a QB who has been here for 3 years and still plays like a rookie. I like the idea of Nichols, Glenn and LeFevour. I would love for us to have the next young stud QB, but those don't grow on trees, and our management has shown they are incapable of finding any QBs

You need to be more objective-focused.  The objective is not to develop a QB from scratch.  The objective is to have competent QB'ing.   Whether that means having to go to free agency or trade to get one when we need to move on to a new starter, is immaterial.

Having said that, it's entirely possible that in a scenario where a Glenn is signed as veteran insurance policy, Davis becomes the short yardage guy and bumps LeFevour off the roster.  And in fact, if he can't manage to do that, then it would be time to move on.

If a QB will develop, he will develop. I know everyone starts in PR but at some point you have to show something so the coaches will pull the trigger to put you in.

I want Nichols #1, Glenn or Durant #2, and a brand new prospect at #3.

I guess Durant is off the table now that the QB movement has peaked, but if he did come here for good backup money, he would be able to do short yardage at least or better than Feve, leaving the #3 spot to throw the new guy some reps when appropriate.

Durant is not a FA though... unless he gets cut, we have to trade for him.

He is due a big signing bonus pretty soon though.  Montreal is now all of a sudden desperate for a starting QB so they just might keep him.

You obviously don't have a clue how a team develops a QB. The PR is exactly where you start, and then up to 3rd then 2nd and maybe someday a starter. A QB can just as easily be developed from any position on the depth chart if the team is intent on doing so. For some reason you seem to believe a future starter can't be developed if a team has an experienced number two QB and that is just plain false propaganda you are making up. I can't think of a starter in this league right now that didn't start out as a PR or number 3 guy for the first year of their career with the exception of Ray.
