October 15, 2018 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has agreed to terms with national offensive lineman Geoff Gray, who was selected by Winnipeg eighth overall in the 2017 CFL Draft. Gray is with the team through the 2020 season. The Winnipeg-born lineman has spent the past season in the NFL, originally signing with Green Bay and later spending time in New York (Jets) and Cleveland. https://www.bluebombers.com/2018/10/15/bombers-agree-terms-2017-eighth-overall-selection-geoff-gray/

Looks like Stanley Bryant isn't signed for 2019 as previously reported: Blue Bombers sign offensive lineman Stanley Bryant to two-year deal Dec 12 2017 https://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/blue-bombers-sign-offensive-lineman-stanley-bryant-two-year-deal/Ed Tait @EdTaitWFC 3 hours ago Kyle Walters, #Bombers GM, just spent 23 minutes visiting with the media on a variety of topics, including Geoff Gray, the inactivity around the trade deadline, the uncertainty surrounding the CBA, etc. Story coming soon on Ed Tait @EdTaitWFC 3 hours ago Kyle Walters, #Bombers GM, did indicate that of the starting OL Stanley Bryant, Sukh Chungh and Matthias Goossen are pending FAs; Neufeld and Hardrick under contract for 2019. https://www.bluebombers.com/2018/10/16/checking-gm-kyle-walters/me: I thought Bryant signed a multi-year deal so he'd be under contract for 2019. I also thought Hardrick would be a free agent. Ed: Well, that's straight from the GM, so... Double checking on this, folks... Darren Cameron @Darren_Cameron Yes. That is incorrect and my mistake. Stanley only had a one year contract registered.

I'm wondering what a "verbal agreement in principle" actually means. Sounds to me like he hasn't signed a contract but has said, "Oh yeah, sure I'll be around next year." Also wondering about the clear lack of communication between the GM office and the PR department. It does seem odd that Walters would name completely different people than Cameron had indicated in the past. A bit of a head scratcher all around.

Basically it is an unsigned agreement, but a given...most likely discussion involving dollars and cents or term based on new CBA...what we have extra for bonus against 2018 SMS...Stuff like that...happens a lot you just don't hear about it because it's insignificant stuff..
He will be here 100 percent next year...he has found a home here and loves it...and more importantly his teammates and management love him...Best Right Tackle in the league in my opinion

thing is...every team will have a list just as long...if not longer..and I would bet by free agency...most guys we want to keep will have been resigned...and the list won't be as significant...and whereas a different team covets one of our guys...there will be guys on other teams we covet and fit in with us better SMS wise...I have no worries until I start hearing that key guys state they want to test the market

It's a ton of guys right now. I expect quite a few of those dominoes to drop in early January.

Very similar situation when the Riders loaded up for the 2013 Grey Cup season. I am glad the Bombers are going all-in this year.

If we re-sign our Oline, it will be:
Hardrick Chungh Goossen Gray Bryant
Can't imagine any of them not wanting to be part of that oilne, and they could book a group package to the CFL Outstanding Players Awards ceremony... because each of those guys could very well be a first team all star.

I could see the bombers letting Lafrance, Wild, Leggett, and Couture go. Medlock and Dressler retire.
By now most of these players will have received and offer, some many have a verbal agreement just like Hardrick, a few might have already told the bombers there not interested in returning.
Guy's like Briggs, Miles, Miller, Gauthier, Thomas, Corney and Remple just need a small bump and they will be here for a couple more years.
Nevis, Ok, Bighill Santos-Knox, Hardrick, Goossen, Chungh, Bryant, Demski, Wol82, Alexander, need to be signed.
