Yes it is, short term contracts have made building a team and holding them together in the CFL a crazy exercise.  I hope the P.A. is happy with the huge displacement and instability they've created for their members.

Two things...

First, player retention is MUCH more important now, hence the emphasis on building a team with a family feel to it.  Which is why the Walters / MOS building method is so important.

Second, the PA is absolutely stoked about the "displacement and instability" this is creating, because if a player moves, its for mo money...

Well if there is 20 or 30 FAs in Bomberland then there has to been a hundred elsewhere and if Walters is good at one thing, its signing FAs.  With the home playoff game revenue, he should have the bucks to fills some holes.  Might actually be a good thing . But Im definitely not getting any name or number put on my jersey for awhile.

CFL has a salary cap, so each team has the same budget to work with.

Jeff Hamilton‏ @jeffkhamilton59 minutes ago
Weston Dressler was the undisputed leader of the #Bombers offence, behind maybe Matt Nichols. He played the last month of the season with a broken hand. Expect him to be back next season.

A non-comprehensive look at the #Bombers' pending free agents, presented in no particular order.

Are you saying they have almost 40 free agents???
That is crazy?  Is it the same all over the league? So much for getting a name printed on the back of a new jersey.

This is funny because this year in Hamilton I wore a New Jersey to the game with a blank name thing on the back....and near the end of the game a row of older gentlemen actually yelled at me to pick a name lol.....

Retaining as much of the o-line is a priority. We all remember what a sub-par o-line looks like, no way this team moves forward if it takes a big step backwards in talent at those positions.  You can sink an entire season.

It starts and ends there...

It means there are some free agents that he may have missed. The actual free agent list will range from the 23 he has listed and the 37 potential names I identified.

Until the teams release the lists all we will see are speculative ones.  They will be mostly accurate but not guaranteed to have everyone.

Pretty sure Spooner has a new deal already or one for 2018-2019 just waiting for the new year. Most likely why he wasn't 1-gamed and this release is just paper work shuffling.

The team is too high on him to allow him to walk and his loyalty staying when he could have been poached...and I hear it was twice goes a long way in the team "taking care" of you
