Former Stamp Anthony McClanahan accused of murdering his wife

A former professional football player is accused of murdering his wife inside a hotel.

On the same day the victim's body was found, police say the former footballer was talking about a medical condition he said he has that's connected to the game.

Police said a Park City sergeant who was routinely patrolling the area was flagged down by Anthony McClanahan around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Almost simultaneously, the officer received a 911 call from the hotel about a ruckus happening in a room on the third floor of the Park City Regency Hotel.

In the hotel room, police found the body of 28-year old Keri McClanahan, who went by KC, in bed with knife wounds to her throat. Anthony is the primary suspect.

Anthony McClanahan used to play pro football with the Canadian Football League's Calgary Stampede and played college football for Washington State University in the 90s, according to Canadian news outlets.

YouTube video shows Anthony McClanahan running a bootcamp for his Phoenix business 41 Sports.

Pictures on Facebook show he and his wife on charitable trips to Texas and Puerto Rico to help in the hurricane efforts.

The same day KC'S body was found, a 19-minute video was posted on YouTube showing Anthony in a hospital bed, talking about concussions. It's unclear when the video was taken, but the video apparently has since been removed.

"I know a lot of my football buddies don't want to tell you what they have going on. I can't keep it a secret any more," Anthony McClanahan said in the video. "I feel like I'm dying every second of every day I play that **** sport. Tackle football is the devil."

In October, McClanahan allegedly kidnapped his son from school in Phoenix, according to court documents.

More than a week later, police arrested him in Salt Lake City on a felony kidnapping charge and fugitive from justice warrant after the boy's mother, Donna May, located him.

Court documents say he posted the $150,000 bond a week later. Two weeks after that, Park City Police detained him in his wife's death.

Police said they expect the county attorney to file formal charges next week.

This is definitely the dark side of the game, and concequences from concussions. He isn't the first football player with impacts from concussions to ipeither kill or be killed. The sport must do everything humanly possible to limit the impacts to players heads, as this story is a very sad reminder of impacts to players beyond the playing field. Sad.

Do you really think it was because of concussions? I wonder how good he was with anger management before he got concussions? My guess
is not great.
