I say yes, go head and do it.  We all wanted him to make the playoffs as the deal maker, and while I know it's not official yet, I'd say for all practical purposes we have made the playoffs.  Can't see the East fielding 3 teams of 9 wins or better at this point, and while it'd be good to win a playoff game to ensure our hard work this year paid off, I just can't help but feel we found the right combination to get success on the field.

I say, give him a 2-year extension, nothing big or hefty but a sign that he's got enough of our confidence to go forward again.

I hear talks are under way.  I am sure that Osh is happy to wait until the end of the season.  But I would think an announcement once they are officially in would be appropriate

He has the team on the right track....they play for each other and are accountable to one another....it took some time but he has stuck with his program since he arrived and we are seeing the positive results now.  He will only get better as we give him better players and continue to upgrade our Canadian talent.  Sign him up!

Wlters can have it written up and in a drawer. But all of this needs to wait until the off season.

Let's focus on football right now.

Making the playoffs wasn't where I set the bar for an extension, and we haven't even done that yet.

3 weeks ago lots of folks wanted to extend O'Shea before seeing what happened in the last third of the season, then the 2 week losing streak happened. One exciting win and it's back to extend O'Shea. One disappointing loss next week and the extension doesn't look like as good an idea.

Wait and see how the season plays out. Do we cross over? Do we get a home game? Are we competitive in the playoffs? Are we 1 and done? All these things and more should effect the length of any extension and the size of the salary.

To me it's now a given he's getting an extension. If Wade waits, then how we do in the playoffs will form what type of extension he gets. Further in playoffs = more years and money.

This. But especially the bolded part. Contract extensions can and should wait.

The BB will extend his contract, the length and $$$ involved will be directly linked to the team's performance in the playoffs. There is no cloud of uncertainty hanging over whether he s going to loose his job or not, so I think management will extend him at the end of the season vs announce something early and be a distraction or have us take Our Foot off the gas pedal going into the playoffs. Full steam ahead and things will work themselves  out after the season is done

haters love to hate but this is a good football team with a decent coaching staff

we need consistency from both the players, coaches and management

something that we have not had for 10 years

No one is hating. We're discussing timing.

nah, I don't see a reason to do it "today" or any time before the end of the season. I think he's getting extended, but I don't see any reason it can't wait until the off-season.
