Big game tonight for me in the quest for a championship, I need a high scoring game to close the gap...down by 47 with 4 players to go...win and it is father vs son (Goldboys) for the ultimate prize...technically I think he has the better team at the moment and some favorable match-ups next week so I don't think i can beat him anyways.

Been a fun season for sure and makes Sundays in front of the TV a blast.

Yea so much fun. I'm in a lot of trouble on the B side pool. Picked a bad week to come up empty and Jamaal Charles picked an awful week to let Knile Davis do all the damage.

That is the kicker...one or two guys on your team having an "off" day...last year Jamaal scored 50 against me in the playoffs  Angry

I need Cutler to toss a few to Jeffrey tonight, maybe he can do something for both of us...and your guy Forte to run like the wind....and Drew to finally connect with Jimmy like the old days.

Well...Cutler didn't do much... and now I'm in the 7th place game. Ah well. I'll probably put up 150 now that it doesn't matter Tongue

Bears are horrible. Look like the Bombers, at least I have two of the best one team. Too bad trestman will get fired at the end of the year.

Fantasy is working out just fine - the champion will be in my house one way or another. Some good trash talking going on for the next few days. I think I will lose to him for the second year in a row (last year he was third and I was fourth). His pick up of beckham jr was the move of the year I think.

You had a tough one coming into the year in a keeper league - it will be better next season for you.

Hopefully. The Bears are horrible but Cutler has put up decent fantasy points... but yea I'll be back next year.. already looking forward to it.. it's a great active league.

Sounds like a great league.  I've been in so many crappy dead leagues NFL NHL MLB it really sucks. If there's ever an opening I'm down with that. Does anyone here do a baseball league ?

Last year I was Not My Forte. This year we've re-branded to "The Golden Tophats". I had a press conference in my basement and everything. My Fiancee thought it was weird but fantasy football is serious business.

The Blue Steelers are back in and this dad is looking to get revenge on his son (GoldBoys) for beating him in the final....and it was great to meet Ty at the last Bomber game and he assured me the league is back in business.

Fantasy Football is a big deal in our house for sure!!

If you have the capability to find the american show "The League" watch it!!  It is on the US Netflix.

Haha I'd probably take him! I like the Bears. I picked Not My Forte with the intention of getting Forte but then by not getting him, the name still worked. He wasn't mine, literally. lol

This year I'm going player neutral!

Cool maybe full disclosure though: it's a keeper league so some players will be off the board. I was new last year but still managed a .500 season. Kind of tough sledding at first though.

Some good teams in the mix - finally got a few steelers. The Jeremy hill team has a bunch of my old players so I will be cheering for them too Smiley. Brees, rivers and vinateri did well for me.

We should meet up at half time at the banjo bowl.  Me and goldboys and Ty and a couple others sit in the same section

Haha don't worry I got a B- and am projected to go 2-12. Could happen but I doubt it. The point projection seems a little off to start the year on a few of my players week 1. Especially when you compare the NFL site projections to Fantasy Pro's or some of the other sites. A couple players are projecting way lower than I think is fair and a few guys who I drafted in later rounds are apparently going to pick up big points. I doubt it. And the projections change normally after the first couple weeks. Do not worry! No one has ever lost in fantasy football before week 1.

Oh I know, I'm pretty hopeful my team is going to close strong in addition to picking up some players along the way. Also have a few guys that can hopefully play at a nice level when totally healthy (Gurley, Cruz, Foster, Ertz).

Also hoping Hayne is the real deal. Would love to see him get a few chances in the early weeks (Especially when I'm almost forced to play him Tongue ). I really think his skills will transfer well to the NFL and he looked great throughout the preseason.

My pleasure! I always wanted to be in a league you can look back at years and years. I just didn't think I would look back and say "wow, I suck."

Maybe next year we will put some money up, but it would have to be a consensus throughout the league.

Ditto, excited for tonight. As someone who hasn't been in this type of league except for last year where I didn't have players to keep, do the teams who don't select keepers get to select 5 players before everyone else who kept players? Or do they get 5 extra picks at the end?

yes that is how it works - think that is what you got last year when you joined...we had to sit there while you picked...if you don't keep 5 i think you get slotted in before.  This year you can actually see who has kept who...there are a few who haven't kept any - i only kept 3...

I figured. That rules out a few players I really wanted to pick up, ah well, that's what the backup plan is for.

Drafted two teams ($75/10 team and a $50/12 team) and I'm so torn. Both are keeper leagues, so I was able to bring a player from my team last year and give up the draft pick I used last year to select them.

My 10 team league went so well, my 12 team league is a disaster.

$75 10 team
QB - Russell Wilson
RB - Todd Gurley *
RB - Eddie Lacy
WR - Odell Beckham
WR - Dez Bryant
TE - Travis Kelce
FLEX - Donte Moncrief
Bench: Jeremy Hill, Tom Brady, Stefon Diggs, Tajae Sharpe

$50 12 team (0.5 PPR)
QB - Marcus Mariota
RB - Doug Martin
RB - Duke Johnson
WR - Jordy Nelson
WR - Brandin Cooks
TE - Jason Witten
FLEX - Jarvis Landry *
Bench: Jeremy Hill, Sterling Shepard, Charles Sims, Bilal Powell

Rough go of it in the second draft, but I feel fairly confident I'm going to steamroll guys in the first league. Gurley was my keeper in the 6th round and I was still able to draft OBJ, Lacy and Bryant in my first 3 rounds.

Pretty impressive to have Russell Wilson in before Brady's good to go.

Great first team, second one kinda sux haha Tongue

ours is a keeper with mostly folks on this board...my team is somewhere between your awesome one and your hot mess...I made some tactical errors (picking Shepard too soon) that I have to deal with (being a GM is hard work)

Manning
Forte
DeAngelo Williams
Alshon Jeffrey
DeAndre Hopkins
Delaine Walker
Sterling Shepard
Santos
Eagles

Bench: Rivers, Coleman, Christine Micheal, Vereen, Travis Benjamin, Jesse James...

I have work to do

Second one was tough, keepers included were Antonio, Odell, Gurley, Julio, Hopkins, Gronk and I was drafting 10th in the first round so by the time it came around to me, I had the option of either Jordy or Dez for my first choice. The roster is a little bit better than it looks, as 0.5 PPR makes the value in guys like Landry and Duke go way higher than in a standard scoring format, but it's still a mess that I'm going to have to do some serious work on.

I'm actually happier with my 12 team draft in Ty's league than I am with my 10 team draft last night with coworkers, although I'm pretty happy about both

12 Team, 0 PPR League:
QB - Russell Wilson
RB - Todd Gurley*
RB - Mark Ingram
WR - Mike Evans*
WR - TY Hilton
TE - Coby Fleener
Flex - C.J. Anderson
BN - Dak Prescott
BN - Derrick Henry
BN - Alfred Morris
BN - Will Fuller
BN - Kelvin Benjamin
BN - Josh Gordon

K - Chris Boswell
DEF - Arizona

* = Keeper

10 Team, 1 PPR League:

QB - Carson Palmer
WR - Dez Bryant
WR - Alshon Jeffery
WR - Jarvis Landry
RB - Todd Gurley
RB - Matt Forte
TE - Travis Kelce

BN - Michael Crabtree
BN - Ryan Matthews
BN - Devin Funchess
BN - Spencer Ware
BN - Will Fuller
BN - Alfred Morris

K - Blair Walsh
DEF - Arizona

First year league, no keepers

At any rate, looking so forward to the NFL starting, glad Banjo Bowl is on Saturday so Sunday can be spent watching "Red Zone" (greatest TV channel in the world for NFL fans, once you have this you will never want to not have access to it)...

My team:
B. Bortles
J. Nelson
J. Edelman
David Johnson
Devonta Freeman
G. Olsen
W. Snead
Bench: Emmanuel Sanders, T. Eifert, T. Coleman, Michael Thomas, Devontae Booker, Chris Johnson
Kicker: C. Catanzaro
Defense: Houston

Thinking of dropping Eifert and picking up Houston's Will Fuller. Have a feeling him and Hopkins are gonna let it up this year with Osweiler

Gurley was my keeper from choosing him in the 6th last year and then I drafted second overall.

So basically my draft was

1st: OBJ
2nd: Lacy
3rd: Dez
4th: Russ
5th: Moncrief
6th: Gurley

You can't pick up guys today/tomorrow between the Thursday and Sunday games? All leagues I have been in players are free agents in this window.

A terrible season for my team...didn't even make the consolation bracket...done with this team - dropped all my players except for the required one to keep a team and when it comes time to pick keepers next season I will be starting fresh...just a terrible, terrible team I had....

DeAndre Hopkins is trash for fantasy..

I had a rough year too. I think I finished behind you. Lost a ton of close games and had some injuries. Hopkins didn't have a great year but look who's throwing him the ball. I think I'll go the other way and add players now and try to cobble together some keepers for next year.

yah...we sucked...hopefully Ty brings down the hammer and boots out the non-players who just auto-draft and never make a change to their team...just not fun....that would free up some good players.

Funny in hindsight - team #1 absolutely crapped the bed and I turned team #2 into the following without a single trade and now I'm in the semis.

QB - Matt Ryan
RB - Jeremy Hill
RB - Rob Kelley
WR - Jordy Nelson
WR - Brandin Cooks
TE - Zach Ertz
FLEX - Jarvis Landry

I probably lost 4+ games to horrible choices/stupidity this year. Wilson at QB absolutely boned me. I benched him during his one good game in the first two months, so 8 weeks into the season I got one game a hair over 14 points from him, and every other week was sub-12 points. Trading for Mariota and picking up L Murray almost saved my season but it was too little too late. I think I benched TY Hilton for every good game he had and played him for every sub-10 point game he had, and don't get me started with Gurley... I came so close to not keeping him so I could draft Elliott but worried I wouldn't get a good enough pick in the draft... ****. I drafted Dak knowing he would be good and dropped him because I thought it would take too long to come about Cry

At least Mike Evans didn't hurt me.

Yes, this year I sure botched that one. Will make sure all teams have legitimate owners next year.

Over thought my process during this weekend's matchup. Looked at Cooks' home/road splits and indoor/outdoor splits and was worried because I felt like I needed a more consistent, higher floor option. So I benched Cooks for Adam Thielen who then proceeded to have his head explode on the field on his way to a big fat zero. Cooks puts up 34 points in the 3:05 game.  Roll Eyes

Good thing I ended up going against Rodgers, Davante Adams, Tyler Eifert and Kenny Farrow. I'm going to the finals! Cheesy

^glad someone is still playing..strange watching the games and not refreshing my phone every few minutes.

I am long done...but someone was moping in my house after Rogers puts up his worst game of the year..Dan Bailey missed 2 50+ and Jay Ajai got stuffed a foot short of the endzone...

I of course rolled out the classic "If "ifs and buts" were candies and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas..."  Got a strange look back..

Dad of the year for sure.
