Came to Winnipeg in 1970 from Ireland.  Went to a game because it seemed to be most like Rugby.  Immediately bought season tickets and have been STH ever since except for two seasons when health problems intervened.
True Blue.

Stay true blue Knocker and enjoy talking Bomber football here.

Awesome....  Welcome.

I met some ppl from England on line playing poker about 12 years ago and introduced them to our football and our Jets.

Pretty kool to see them take pics in England wearing our swag.

50 year Bomber fan, was a season ticket holder for many years but was transferred out to Brandon for work.  Still make 3-5 games yearly, and one day will once again hold season tickets.  Blue and Gold 4Life!!!!

Excellent and welcome.  Good on you for keeping connected with the Bombers!  There are a few Brandon Bomber fans on here together with other Bomber fans from across Canada.

Pushing 60, my mother... yes my mother, introduced me to the Bombers when I was a wee one. We've had season tickets for 40+ years.
Odd thing though... the Bombers winning the Grey Cup was anti-climatic for me.  Once Hamilton won the Eastern final I knew the Bombers would not only beat Sask and go to the cup but I knew they'd beat Hamilton as well. Because that's just the way it is.

Hi Scratch!  It was similar for me... I knew once we beat CGY that we'd make it to the GC.  But to be honest, I gave us only a 50/50 chance of winning it.  However, wasn't anti-climactic for me... being there at McMahon with my son when the clock hit 0:00 was one of the best days of my life!  Enjoy the forum.

Prior to last years Grey Cup, the Bombers and Ti Cats have played in the cup game 9 times with the Bombers winning 6 times.
Now it's 10 times with the Bombers winning 7 times... 70% How could we not win it.

Go Big Blue

Bomber fan since the 50's. Season ticket holder Sec W East Side in the old stadium from 1968 to 1980 then we started our family. 1st date with my wife was 1971 right after we shared a Grey Cup ticket at work and won.

Moved over to Sec 129 West Side in the new stadium when the corporate seats were brought in on the East Side.

My Mom was also a big Bomber supporter and when she got into her late 90's she cheered twice as much as us when she thought that the replays were the next play in the game.

When the Bomber games were blacked out the guys we worked with used to go to our family cottage north of Gimli at Valhalla Beach to watch the game as it was just outside the blackout area. BBQ, Beers & Bonfire.

Back in the 80's my good friend from work was a big Double Blue fan so we started betting on the Grey Cup and the loser had to wear the winners Jersey for a week at work. Later we switched to betting one beer on every Bomber game in the season and squared up after the Bombers last game. Lost a lot of beer in the 29 year GC drought but will never bet against the "Big Blue".

In the 50's and 60's we used to go to the old Brooklyn Speedway. Always sat near the top in the stands and once saw a tire come off a car and bounce thru the parking lot and end up on the road. Lucky I missed the night when the car went thru the fence and ended up in the stands.

Such cute stories!  I never knew that about the blackout.  So cool.  Your family picked the right cottage to buy then, eh!

Enjoy the forum.  Hopefully we'll get a season to talk about sooner rather than later.
