In about 8 hours year 11 of being a season ticket holder will commence... I think I've missed 2 home games in that stretch... yes I went to all games last year  :(.... I was alive but barely coherent for the 88 and 90 Grey Cup so I'm basically part of the generation that has never seen a championship.... hoping for some positive things this year...

I'm an ex Rider fan. Born and raised in Saskatchewan ( Moose Jaw ) moved to Winnipeg in 85. I was a huge Rider fan when I lived there, and when I moved to Winnipeg, I was still a fan. After moving to Winnipeg, I started going to as many Bomber games as I could because I LOVE the CFL, and eventually got season tickets while going to school. ( section S discount )  ;D
My friends and family back in Sask, got quite upset at the fact that I was now cheering for the Bombers and going to the games here ... even though I was still a Rider fan. The rivalry started. They treated me like I was now the bad guy, and I would get calls, end emails all the time, especially when the Bombers lost the Labour Day games. If you think back, those just happened to be the few games the Riders would win back in the 90's because the Riders had horrible teams. So, this rivalry grew bigger and bigger, until I stopped cheering for the Riders at all. My friends and family were relentless. The BLUE completely took over, and the green faded to nothing. I actually hate the colour green now.
I love my old home town, and the province of Saskatchewan, but loath the Riders and anyone wearing green  ;D
So, I now have season tickets, and am a PROUD Bomber fan !!
GO BLUE BOMBERS GO !
COOL BEANS !

Hi...my name is Luvblue & I haven't been on here for quite awhile
but I did & do read most posts...

My Dad used to bring me to the games (I am female) because my brothers were busy or
too young and my passion for the Blue grew from that... & now my daughter from me.
My fave players were Mack Herron, Ty Jones, James West & Joe Poplawski to name just a few.

Have been a fan over 40 yrs....season ticket holder on & off since the 90's
(due to kids & little time). Have been back full-blue for a long time now &
can't think of anything I'd rather do than watch our Bombers all season.
I miss it when it ends in Nov & love it when training camp starts & the anticipation
of 'what the new players' coming onboard brings each year.... it just never gets old!

Oh & yeah...my girls were born 1988 & 1990...the last years we WON the Cup...
I am a true BLUE fan heart & soul..always & forever.
My 2 favourite teams are the Blue Bombers
and any other team that beats the Riders!

My name Franca. I was born in Gorizia, Italy (near Trieste), coming to Canada as a baby. I still can speak Italian, so if my friend Elvira and I get together, we have a lot of fun, speaking to each other, and "shaming" any Italian players, if they don't speak the mother tongue. It's all in fun of course.
I have been a season ticket holder since 1976, thus my "handle"
I'm cute too...so Marni, there are 2 cute female Moderators.  :D
My family used to watch the Bomber games on tv. My parents could never afford tickets. I started going to the occasional game in the mid sixties, and fell in love with it. Finally getting season tickets in 1976. Saw them win 3 Grey Cups in that time...what a feeling for you who haven't experienced it. It will come...and soon I hope. My son, who is 27, also comes to the games, and we have converted his girlfriend into a football fan too.
I AM a Blue blood!  ;D

Born in 1990 and have always lived in Denver, Colorado.

I'm just a huge sports fan in general. I love football and I appreciate the differences between the CFL, AFL, NFL, and NCAA versions of the sport. Growing up in the 1990s the CFL was only on TV in the states every now and again. I'd watch the games when they were on, but I didn't really follow a particular team. Around ten years ago games started becoming more available to me, due to the internet among other reasons. At that point I decided to pick a team, because it's always more fun to watch sports if you have a rooting interest. I chose the Bombers because I liked their name and colors more than the other teams, and I've been a fan ever sense. I'm really happy about the league's ESPN deal, because it means for the first time I won't have to miss a single game this year.

Other sports teams I follow, in order of how much I like them:
Denver Broncos (NFL)
Colorado Rockies (MLB)
Colorado Avalanche (NHL)
Denver Nuggets (NBA)
Colorado Mammoth (NLL; haven't missed a home game in 8 years)
Denver Outlaws (MLL)
Colorado State Rams (college football and basketball)
Denver Pioneers (college hockey and lacrosse)
Iowa Barnstormers (AFL; I was a diehard Colorado Crush fan but sadly they no longer exist, so I picked Iowa to follow in 2010 and have been a fan since)

I also dig boxing and MMA. Can't stand soccer, auto racing, or tennis. Will sometimes watch the last day of a major golf tournament, but not really big on golf either.

EDIT: can't believe I originally omitted the Nuggets. Been through some brutal years with this team, but I still love 'em.

LongLiveTheCFL

I'm a 21 year old fan who's never seen a Grey Cup Championship in Winnipeg but witnessed the should-be Championship of 2007 if it hadn't of been for Glenns injury.

Been following the Bombers since 2005 to the point of over-indulgence and NFL from 2005-2008 watching NFL network year round 5-6 hours a day. Played football from 10-17 as a SB/WR , could have gone alot further if it hadn't been for two injuries to the same knee unrelated to football. It's fully rehabbed and I'm in the best shape of my life but at my age I don't see any chance at getting anywhere, so I'm happy enough to just watch the bombers even though I've wanted to attempt to make it onto the team; Maybe I'll try an open camp sometime in the next few years ;]

My favorite player is Jim Brown, the famous FB from the Cleveland Browns. One hell of a strong player. Favorite bomber of all time is also Stoddard though I also loved watching Armstrong at reciever when he was here in 2007?
Lets Re-Make the CFL into nothing but talent from a Province to Province basis without any foreign players that haven't lived in their given Province for less then 5 years :]

Doublezero

My pop took me to see Kenny Ploen and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1966.

Played football when I was younger & attended a CFL training camp as a player but did not make the club.   :o

Covered football and hockey as a reporter but that doesn't mean I know much. I do like to get out and play run and catch still.

And now that I am able to be just a Blue Bomber football fan - this is the most fun of all. Go Blue!!  :D
Just gimme the rock.

Seebass

Hey guys...

Been a part of this forum for quite a while now. I'm 32 years old and been a fan since I was 18. Never followed sports really as a youngster, but for some reason when I left highschool I decided to check out a Bomber game. I've been hooked since. Used to be a moderator as "Seebass" and a volunteer for a few years.

I've sinced moved to Dieppe, New Brunswick and still follow with pride, allthough I am now more of an observer on the forums.

Cheers all!

Hey, started posting here yesterday. Started watching the Bombers seriously in 1965 although I have cloudy memories of watching the 1962 Grey Cup as a little kid barely in elementary school with my family.
Went to my first Bomber game in August of 1969 with my friend. We sat in the old Salisbury House End Zone in the south end zone at Canad Inns Stadium. My ticket cost me 50 cents back then. We beat the mighty Saskatchewan Roughriders 16-14 that game. It was Bomber quarterback Wally Gabler's first game that night. He came to Winnipeg in a trade with the Argos for running back Dave Raimey who happened to be my favourite player at the time & still is today.
We were last in the West & the Riders first. They were undefeated & we were winless. We were huge underdogs that night & beat the heavily favoured Riders. I liked the Bombers a lot but after that game I was hopelessly hooked on the team & have been now for 45 years. We'd only win 2 more games that year but I didn't care.
I had 2 Bomber season tickets from 1974 to 1989 when my wife & I moved to Calgary where I was a Stampeder season ticket holder from 1990 to 1998. My kids got into playing football here in Calgary & after the 98 season I gave up my season tickets as I was coaching & missing too many games. I still have one son playing football at Simon Fraser.
Still in Calgary... now over 24 years. I really like the Stampeders but I love the Blue Bombers. We have some interesting rivalries in our house as my sons are diehard Stamps fans. My oldest was born in Winnipeg but we moved here to Calgary when he was 4 & my youngest was born here. At least this season I have some ammunition to fire back when the trash talking starts. :)
Anyway, some of you may know me from other CFL sites... as I've been around. I don't know if that is good or bad. Look forward to talkin' to y'all.
