When I heard the controversy, I was expecting much worse comments than that. God forbid an athlete give an honest answer instead of repeating the same vanilla comments over and over.

The Blue Jackets are a terrible team who have focus on next season by December each year. Why is it so shocking to say it out loud?

Honest answers can still be mindful and respectful towards those who actually do care within the Blue Jackets organization.

Again, when English is not your mother tongue, subtleties are harder to express.  Its one thing to translate the thought, its another to massage them to "be respectful"

Laine knows that the BJ's did take care of him through his difficulties, and I am sure he appreciates that.  But, brutal truth be told, they are not a great organization that has struggled finding their feet.  Which can be frustrating for a player thrust into the spotlight as one of the saviours of the club, only for it to fall on its face.

I think he will do well in the storied franchise that is Montreal, they're making a lot of progress there, and he seems to be blossoming in that environment.

Laine is a  one trick pony whose ego has grown too big.  Won't be long till he's injured again or on one of his world famous slumps again.
