This is one of the very few trades from Tampa that I absolutely hate. Not because of the player but the return. They could have done this for two less picks and used those two picks to get another player. And I get the optics of it pickwise, doesn't mean I have to like it. |

Toronto has been crazy busy and just minutes ago they shed salary by sending Engvall to the Caps, who I hoped Jets might get cheap
Plus they just picked up dman Schenn from the Canucks and dman Gustaffson from the Caps for the above
The returns were 3rd draft spots

The Jets were in on Chychrun but part of the proposed trade involved the Coyotes retaining part of his salary as well as a notable prospect going to the desert.
Kane would've never entertained coming here, even if for a short stint.

I really like what the Oilers and Leaf's have done. Oilers have better goaltending at this point. Ottawa made a few good moves for a team still out of the play-offs. The Oilers might go far in the weaker West division. Leaf's are going to have a tough time.
Wild added some nice pieces.
