TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun reports Kovalchuk definitely wants to return to the NHL next season, and the New Jersey Devils are willing to facilitate a trade to make it happen.

"Depending on the mechanism of injury, 'slow to get up' does not trigger mandatory removal," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told Kevin Allen of USA TODAY Sports. "The protocol has to be interpreted literally to mandate a removal. 'Ice' as compared to 'boards' is in there for a reason. It's the result of a study on our actual experiences over a number of years. 'Ice' has been found to be a predictor of concussions -- 'boards' has not been."

Seems strange to think boards aren't included. It's equally as strange to not take into account a player's concussion history.

According to NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly, the league's concussion spotter determined the incident didn't match the criteria necessary to pull a player from the game. He added, however, that Crosby was checked for a concussion despite head coach Mike Sullivan saying otherwise.

McDavid held to just 9 points in the 2 rounds. However, at just 20 yrs. old & along with Draisaitl, the Oilers certainly have the Malkin & Crosby duo in Oiler colors going forward
Ducks wore the Oilers down with savvy play & if not for Talbot, the series may not have gone 7.

Corsi numbers, apparently said ..... the only period in the 7 gm. series where the Penguins held 50% or better possession, was in last nights final period -- WOW !!
Ovechkin disappears in the 7th & a few other games ....... can anyone take this guy off the Caps hands
