It'd be nice if some posters knew when to move on from pointless arguments, instead of whining ad nauseam days after a response.

In other actual news, the Bruins have fired HC Claude Julien, with Providence HC Bruce Cassidy taking over in the interim:

I'm sure Vegas will be eyeing Julien.

I hope the Jets are eyeing Julien.

He's miles better than useless Paul Maurice.

Jersey

Definitely a choice but I'm not sure True North will fire Maurice until end of the year. Atleast jets are close to playoff spot so you might aswell wait it out and see what happens.  Then re assess

Julien still has another year on his contract at $3M, so I can't see the blindly loyal folks at TNSE even showing remote interest based simply on that factor.

I'm all for showing loyalty but not when it comes at the cost of success.

I'd take Hitchcock or Julien at this point. Maurice is pitiful.

Both are obviously an upgrade, so I agree. I don't know if I'd qualify Maurice as pitiful, but he's definitely showing how bloody mediocre his coaching mantra is.

Exaggeration born from frustration, but I do not think he's any good at all.  :P

I hear ya, Mike. The team should be better than it is at this point, and that loss on Saturday just grossed me out something fierce.

A quality HC can do wonders. Look at the Leafs... Well, despite their recent struggles, obviously. :D

Jockitch

heard on the Sports Central at Noon radio show ....... panel felt Julien is to expensive for Vegas for a couple reasons
   1. the $$'s he makes puts him at a high echelon & team does not need that yet
   2. team is not worried about winning at all cost as the Draft placement in next 3 years is quite important.

As for the Jets ........ my guess is a nope, as a fit, if PM is tanked, (which I don't guess is happening yet)

Quote
The Coyotes released a statement on Thursday to reaffirm their commitment to the state of Arizona.

The statement comes on the heels of a Glendale Star report that the team's ownership visited arenas in Seattle and Portland over the past three months. Coyotes president and CEO Anthony LeBlanc said recent reports from the Star are "completely false."

"Recent reports by the Glendale Star that the Coyotes ownership group has explored arena options outside the Arizona market are completely false," LeBlanc said in a statement. "The Star referenced an anonymous arena source and an anonymous Coyotes source, and these are a fabrication.

"The Coyotes are focused on creating one of the most taxpayer friendly facilities in the country here in the Valley. This new arena will pay for itself, create jobs and generate millions of dollars of revenue for the state, county and municipality where it's built.

"We are fully committed to Arizona."

The Coyotes plan to build a new arena in Tempe, Arizona was shut down when Arizona State University pulled out of the joint arena plan last week.
