Huh? Oilers,  Hurricanes,  Florida etc...  All have a lot to say before u only list one team that gets coverage here and leafs from TSN.  There is alot of greats prospects from other teams forming. How u came up with only those two.. Lol.

How so?  Can you not talk sports without needing bias.  I think there are great young team's probably ahead of Oilers,  Jets and leafs for Prospects alone.  Oil r not deep in prospects..and I don't see it in Wpg either. Now we can all draw up our own conclusion, but it fact is there are team's right now using there prospects who have done well.  It's a good thing, but if I don't just say how great jets r you are now upset. Don't be like that, enjoy the game. Trust me, as u guys love to say Oil sucked forever, made fun of em... I still loved talking nhl, watch all youngsters. That's what it's about watching growth of ur team,  every organization will hit a hault, it happens in almost every sport.  Win or lose Ur team is urs, but I choose to try and be realistic too.  It's 6 games in, there is a entire season to play

That was my thing, I don't put a lot into everything they say. It's TV.  Or its to sell.  Look how wrong they are on a lot. 

I see Laine is the new Hull type of guy. Not flashy,  not greatest of skaters,  but get him into the slot or open room and watch him do damage.  He's got a shot!  I actually like Connor Halle as ur future  tender.  He needs a better D core, it's just not up to par, I'd know lol.  Think of my team for all year's. Morrissey has been pretty good, it's long year but good start nonetheless. But Kyle Connor to thin,  not ready,  looks invisible. Armia I'm. Not sure I see much bit a 2 way 3rd liner, now you need those!  Lowry for me is being wasted 4th line. He's  not body that needs to be up there and help create room for younger kids on team.  But other then guys I mentioned its very thin for my liking. 

When you look around Florida, Carolina even Buffalo, some of their prospects are firing on all cylinders and look **** good.  Yes leafs too and my Oil with Drai,  McD,  Nurse,  Klefbom, Pitlick, benning next year will def be on this D, Davidson,   Cagguila had great start but injured etc.. There is a lot out there and youth movement us coming and we are seeing the real benefit to certain team's, of course mixed with solid vets.

Uh, the Hockey News isn't TV. And it employs some of the best minds in the hockey world.

But the argument is prospect depth and talent. The Jets have that in spades but it takes time to develop it. It's not like these young players just enter the league all the same and immediately have a significant impact.

The biggest issues with the Jets through five games are defensive play and inconsistent play, and they are things which have affected the team negatively for the better part of the last five seasons. These are magnified when inexperience is added to the equation.

Definitely defense is a issue. But I don't see all these players in spades I truly don't. Now do you have some?  FOR SURE imo. But it lacks imo for first line second line type.

Its kinda funny you say this now about The Jets yet years past YOUR Oilers were horrible at D and in NET but you said nothing.


As to your opinion of The Jets kids and whats coming up is all fine... Its your opinion. If you don't think its any good that's kool. But as its been said and pointed out is actually people that work in the Hockey World that have been saying and pointing out that we have some really good all around talent.

My OPINION is we arnt so stupid to throw picks out into the fire to just fail and look stupid.

I have said NUMEROUS times Oil didnt have the goaltender nor D, but last two years Oil have there tender. PC also just got here last year and has improved the team with strength, size and more over all balance. Oilers are now a team playing gap control on D and useing there sticks in lanes of shooting, its by far a huge over haul from what we seen. Playing more a 2-1-2 approach.

Yes the Oilers got 1st overall picks, and?? I don't understand your obsession about it? But truth be told I wouldn't talk to much because Jets could be in same boat for next cpl years. BTW, Oil where not supposed to even get 2 of those first over all picks but the ball came out on Oilers. So what do you want them to do? You know kinda like Laine... it's just the luck of the ball! Why don't you look at players like, Nurse, Draistial, Klefbom, Davidson, Pitlick, Cagguilea, Eberle, benning (up and comer for next year on D) etc.. these guys are all other picks and signs and they are OUR'S and even being the 1st over all's, they're still OUR's nobody else's. We didn't go out buying them. Now 2 first over all's are shipped out and Oilers have 2 left.

I just can't fathom what you think is so bad? Oilers like Pitts (Cros, malkin, Letang, fleury) had to be bad to get those players. Blackhawks, Seabrook, Towes, Kane. Now maybe they got out of it faster then Oilers, but every organization comes to a halt at some point. They will get better eventually. Jets made playoffs (once) and thought they had a team for future and had to scrap that with in ONE year! So, would you like to figure that out? Throwing stones at a organization when your's is no better makes no sense to me. You're the one that painted a picture of all these young kids in the other Jets thread and said how good everyone will be. I just tried to tell you when you're young you dont know what you got, proof is in the pudding you gotta wait and find out. NHL is different then ahl, whl or men's pro hockey and or over sea's. Ex. everyone jumped gun on Laine cuz he got a hatty vs terrible leafs. Let me put it this way. Sam Gagner scored record tying 8 points in a game vs the tough Blackhawks and you know what? It was just one game. He could never duplicate HALF that nor 25% of what he did that night on a regular basis. Players take time, but you need more then one game to define.

So instead of worrying so much about Oilers and there 4 first over all's they had, but only 2 remain...I'd worry about your own team. Trust me it's a loooong year. Oilers have a huge hill to climb and will have to prove to be a better team. Oilers are young and for me it was a "battle for a playoff spot year". Oil was not a team expected to make it by "experts" but if only that's what mattered. I don't go by all these experts. I watch hockey I understand the game. I played top level, Best Friend was a NHL'er (Joe Barnes) I played with top wpg boys of my age who are in the nhl (I was retired due to vision). I talk with my knowledge. Take it or leave it kinda approach, up to you. But i'm just giving you my honest opinion but go ahead throw stones at Oilers...if that's what makes you feel better. No matter what, for me....Let's Go Oilers (for most of you its GO JETS GO, no prob. Hope best for them, no hate towards them)! Oil are on the rise. Oh we will lose but then again that's just normal. You can cheer against Oilers tonight on sportsnet at 8:30pm Capitals @ Oilers, it'll be a great measuring stick for us.

Nobody said THAT was the team that was going to go on and bring us a Cup.... Not anyone. Nor was that team scrapped. Its being built. Its called draft and develop an entire team.

Your Oilers didn't do that.... They sucked and drafted #1 forwards and thru them together hoping they'd do something good.

They sucked really bad till someone with a brain was hired and started trading some of them for D and goalies. Actually started building a team.

Ive not ever said any of our kids can just come in and play other then Liane. Its the Oilers if anything have learned the hard way that kids don't always turn out.

JM is a perfect example of what the Jets are trying to build.

And I don't care about your hockey knowledge because you played the game to a level....  I talk to guys all the time that have played above you that tell me .... They really have no clue about how things work out and or how players will work or develop. They just are worried about their own game.
