This is some seriously crazy stuff in the last 48 hours or so:

http://www.tsn.ca/district-attorney-in-kane-case-to-address-tampering-allegations-1.366074

The lawyer for the accuser in the alleged sexual assault investigation, Thomas Eoannou, announced on Thursday night that he is withdrawing as his client's representative on the case. Eoannou said that he's no longer comfortable representing the woman because of how her mother reported finding an evidence bag that once held the woman's rape kit.

That news comes on the heels of a Wednesday news conference where Eoannou said that evidence in the case has been tampered with, setting off a head-spinning day of developments and denials.

Eoannou said the bag once containing evidence from the rape kit performed on his client at Erie County Medical Center in early August was anonymously delivered to the doorstep of his client's mother.

And the crazy continues:

http://www.tsn.ca/prosecutor-kane-accuser-s-mom-lied-about-finding-evidence-bag-1.366435

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The prosecutor overseeing the sexual assault investigation of Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane says the accuser's mother lied about finding an evidence bag in her doorway.

Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita said during a news conference Friday he's not sure yet how the two-day sideshow of how evidence was handled affects the main case. Sedita said all the evidence, including the rape kit used to examine the accuser, was handled properly and is still in custody of authorities.

Sedita said the mother was given the bag at a hospital when her daughter was examined, but it never contained a rape kit. The examining nurse gave the mother the bag after learning the accuser changed her top before going to the hospital, Sedita said. The mother was to put the top in the bag and turn it into authorities, but never did, Sedita said.

On Friday, when asked when a grand jury might hear the case, Sedita responded: "The question in my mind is not when this case will go to a grand jury, it's if it will go to a grand jury."

Kane's attorney, Paul Cambria, has said that none of Kane's DNA was found on the woman "from the waist down."

What a gong show.

Sharks forward Torres could be facing yet another suspension:

http://www.tsn.ca/torres-ejected-for-hit-to-the-head-1.371405

San Jose Sharks forward Raffi Torres could be facing another suspension by the National Hockey League after receiving a match penalty for an illegal hit to the head of Anaheim Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg.

Torres has been suspended four times in his NHL career, the most recent coming during the 2012-13 Stanley Cup playoffs. Torres was suspended for the remainder of the second round against the Los Angeles Kings for an illegal check to the head of Jarret Stoll.

Torres was handed a 25-game suspension in 2012 while playing for the Arizona Coyotes after landing a late hit on the Blackhawks' Marian Hossa. The 25 game suspension is the third-longest handed down by the league.

This guy never learns. Not sure how he still has a job in the NHL.

We all waited two years for him to finally make a comeback and he head hunts a dude in the preseason.

It's a shame too, because he made a positive impact on the team when he actually stuck to playing hockey.

It is a shame because he's a pretty decent hockey player when he actually plays hockey.

W O W .......... so many other players have thrown that similar check in previous years & got away with it.
Unbelieveable crackdown on Torres (good stuff) & others may need to check their temperament & quickly change some instincts.

Wow.

Love it.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

In much more positive news that I hope doesn't get overshadowed, Joe Pavelski was named captain of the Sharks. Wish I could find the full video, but this is a 1st intermission speech down 2-0 to the Coyotes, Joe comes out and scored a hat trick in the final two periods of a 4-2 victory.

Edit: Full version of that scene can be seen here from 50:53 onwards: https://vid.me/Tqvn
