Leafs get raked and bagged for another season
The air waves will really be full of big "suggestions" on what the shakeup will look like in Toronto

Marner to sign elsewhere no doubt comes in at #1

It's not so much the Leafs lost, but its how they lost...no heart and soul on that team. Leadership of that team is questionable in my books. Matthews is not vocal at all, not his style, and the team didn't commit to winning every loose puck like the Panthers did. Panthers hit the Leafs D relentlessly, Toronto's forecheck lacked the physicality Florida brought on every play.

Also, Leafs turn the puck over carelessly in the middle of the ice leading to easy transition chances and goals.

I am betting Mariner will be traded once and for all, they tried to earlier in the season and his no trade clause blocked it, that won't happen in the off season. Changes clearly have to be made. He was melting down on the bench, and that isn't the way to lead, rally the boys up, don't turn on them.

Well, at least we're not Leafs fans...?

That was embarrassing.

I can't believe they lost 6-1 in overtime!  What, it wasn't overtime?

Golf! Leafs! Golf!

I guess they lasted a day longer than the Jets, so there's that to brag about.

Had a Leaves fan at poker laugh about giving the Leafs a hard time, "At least we've won a Cup".  I had to remind him that he Leaves have gone longer without a cup win than the Jets... 58 years and counting.

Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

The Leaf's didn't get anywhere near the production they needed out of their #1 line and THAT cost them. Your best players have to be your best players in the playoffs, ours were and theirs weren't.

Matthews said post game the problem was there was too many passengers , holy smokes does the guy have a mirror??!!!

Panthers really looked good last night.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

Oilers with a 3-1 lead, and then blow it.

Stars' powerplay was unstoppable in the third.

4 Nations Face-Off named Sports Event of the Year

QuoteThe 4 Nations Face-Off continues to be a success for the NHL.

The international best-on-best tournament -- which was run by the NHL and the NHL Players' Association -- that was held from Feb. 12-20 and captivated sports fans all over the world, was named Sports Event of the Year at the SBJ Sports Business Awards in New York on Wednesday.

Born out of innovation and creativity to bring international best-on-best competition back to the NHL schedule, the 4 Nations Face-Off was held in two cities with rich hockey histories -- Montreal and Boston -- to sold-out crowds. All games in the 4 Nations Face-Off were played in accordance with NHL rules, which provided an added level of entertainment and competitive intensity.

The 4 Nations Face-Off, which was won by Canada, was a bonanza in every measurable way -- player buy-in, attendance, television ratings, corporate sponsor support and revenue generation, social media engagement, merchandise sales and media coverage and impressions.

The USA-Canada championship game drew 16.1 million viewers (9.3 million in the U.S on ESPN; 6.8 million in Canada), making it the second most-watched hockey game in North America in a decade. One out of every four Canadians watched the championship game on Sportsnet platforms. The USA-Canada rematch was the most-watched non-NFL event ever on ESPN+.

Across North America, the full 4 Nations Face-Off tournament garnered an average audience of 6.5 million viewers, up 256 percent from the World Cup of Hockey 2016 (ABC/ESPN/TNT/TRU/SN/SN+/CITY/TVA Sports).

The six round-robin games delivered an average audience of 4.6 million viewers across North America, up 226 percent from the comparable World Cup of Hockey 2016 average audience (SN/SN+/CITY/ABC/ESPN/TNT/TRU/TVA Sports).
