Agree. Total douche move. One of several and a definite pattern by the Panthers. The league needs to start hammering that team with suspensions and needs to have a little chat with Maurice about the behaviour of his team.  Tzachuk with a douche move at the end of the game on Marner also with a potentially dangerous and blatant trip with no time left. I'm a little surprised that Maurice wants this to be the persona of his team but maybe that's on me.

It Makes me completely lose interest in the sport of hockey. Wilson hit v. Montreal, Schenn hit on Scheiffle, this one, probably others that I did not see.

But also: why is the league not taking a closer look at dirty antics like this? Why does the NHL continue to ignore the safety and health of players?

I guess we shouldn't be surprised when the commissioner himself says CTE isn't a thing.

My point was Gretzky signed the first million dollar contract in the cheapskate (at the time) NHL, and it was a big deal, best player in the game is getting a million bucks a season, scored 70 goals and 120 points or whatever the stat was. Now, joe blow gets $6 million to score maybe 20 goals and 60 points,

You're right, it is a downright disgrace. Maurice's presser just pissed me off, he wouldn't be so smug and condescending if his #1 goalie was out from a cheapshot elbow. They can try and justify it all they want, player driving to the net etc etc, but your elbow doesn't 'accidentally' hit a goalie in the head, it was a premeditated and targetted move to knock out the Leaf's #1 goalie. It is a downright disgrace from an absolutely gutless league. They can go on about player safety all they want, but when they let this type of thing go, its just lip service and not even good lip service.
