So unfortunate for Letang . He?s presently 35 and sadly an early retirement might on the horizon

and now he's back practicing just 11 days after suffering a Stroke          Hockey is in his blood

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/former-consultant-files-100-million-lawsuit-against-nhlpa-1.1904114

Quote
A former senior consultant to the National Hockey League Players? Association has filed a $100-milllion lawsuit against his former employer, alleging that the union misused his confidential information to pursue claims that NHL teams had underreported revenue, which allowed them to pay less money to players.

Richard Rodier made the allegation in a lawsuit filed Jan. 6 in Ontario Superior Court in Toronto. Rodier, who did not explain in his lawsuit why he has demanded so much money, has asked the court to order the NHLPA to provide a full accounting of all revenue received, or to be received, from the NHL on or after he sent a memo to the NHLPA on May 11, 2018, about potential situations where teams might be misreporting hockey-related revenue (HRR).

Rodier wrote in his lawsuit that the confidential information he provided to the NHLPA in the May 2018 memorandum was instrumental to the NHLPA pursuing claims from the league that resulted in additional revenue.

Watching the Bruce Boudreau fiasco play out was pretty sad and puts a really bad look on the Canuck organization.  They left him hanging for at least a week amidst rumours he would be fired, even with reporters interviewing Rick Tocchet about his being hired as the new coach before Boudreau was let go.

I am no Canuck fan by any stretch but their (Aquilini and Canuck management) handling of this situation was pretty damning.  Hard to imagine that the coach is the problem for an under performing team that has had issues that began prior to the hiring of Boudreau.  But, as usual, it is easier to fire the coach than the players.

Canuck's ownership/management 10 year record in hiring/firing...

Vigneault fired 2013
Gillis fired 2014
Tortorella fired 2014
Desjardins fired 2017
Linden fired 2018
Green fired 2021
Benning fired 2021
Boudreau fired 2023

Yeah, that was pretty gross all around. And they're continual firing of guys shows where the problem lies - and it ain't the coaches.

The Canucks' front office is a garbage dump right now. They did Boudreau dirty.

It's going to be hard to retain quality players.
