Not necessarily NHL related but Tyson Barrie is out of the IIHF WC. Apparently, he got hurt wrestling at the hotel. :-\

McDavid held to just 9 points in the 2 rounds. However, at just 20 yrs. old & along with Draisaitl, the Oilers certainly have the Malkin & Crosby duo in Oiler colors going forward
Ducks wore the Oilers down with savvy play & if not for Talbot, the series may not have gone 7.

Corsi numbers, apparently said ..... the only period in the 7 gm. series where the Penguins held 50% or better possession, was in last nights final period -- WOW !!
Ovechkin disappears in the 7th & a few other games ....... can anyone take this guy off the Caps hands

INteresting note from this mornings "Big Show", Vegas has the cap space to take Ovi... perfect fit, really... and can you imagine the marketing Vegas can do in Russia?  Maybe Trump can get in on it with his connections and make a Vegas casino that can make money... ;)

Ovi & Vegas ....... not likely, though I agree with the marketing aspect.
Ovi has a base salary of $10.M, computes to a Cap Hit of a tad over $9.5.M, thru the 2020-2021 season ---- OUCH !!!
As the fellas on the 1290 Big Show discussed ........ the Caps don't want a putt load of future Draft Picks stretched over time ----- they would want a player(s) now.
Mind ya ..... if the Knights due grab an appealing player or 2 in the dispersal draft ......................... NAH !!
The Caps are extremely good & should contend for the Cup again next year & may finally win with a few tweeks & a lot of luck.

However ....... if Gretzky can be traded, then Ovi could be.    Maybe Detroit, Buffalo or Arizona (definately a contender).

Sabres hire new GM: http://www.tsn.ca/sabres-name-botterill-general-manager-1.748921

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Sabres hired Pittsburgh Penguins associate general manager Jason Botterill on Thursday to oversee a franchise that owner Terry Pegula criticized for lacking structure and discipline.

Scheif gets his 1st goal in the last game of the 7 preliminary matches ....... but his intense nature on the ice sure makes me smile a JET fan smile

NHL playoffs has seen the Pens a bit depleted .......... both Sens & Pens getting great goaltending
Kessler is so edgy & I'm at times shocked at what the refs are letting happen ........ however I am enjoying the non calls vs the reg. season frustrating officiating
Would enjoy seeing the Preds in the final

If the Penguins manage to repeat, Fleury for Conn Smythe. He's been phenomenal.

I take you didn't watch that game last night. He was hardly the reason why the Penguins lost again.

By the time I tuned in, it was 4-0... so, no, I didn't get to see much of MAF.  I'm happy, though, because that may have dropped his asking price a bit ;)

Watch how it happened. Fleury got zero support last night.
