Blue Bombers sign all-star receiver Tim White

Cool Spot

Between Demski, Wilson, White, Sterns, and Wheatfall, the Bombers probably have all they really need at receiver (relative to their budget) considering they also have Oliveira at running back who - as he showed last year - is also a threat in the passing game.

At this point, at least on offense, I think the Bombers should be focusing more on their O-line, and plugging gaps on Defense.

Sterns and Wheatfall are pending FA's so there's a chance that they not be back.
Plus we need to do better.

BLUEBOMBER

I would let Sterns and Wheatfall go. We can do better...

I see both those guys as on an upward trend. Wheatfall is fearless across the middle. He was a victim of some sellout passes by both Streveler & Collaros from what I remember.

I'd bet they let them both go. We have our vets who can step in and play. With those extra spots they usually want to give a couple fresh faces a look... try and find our next Pokey

Quote from: TBURGESS on January 31, 2026, 02:36:37 PMSome people refuse to look at both sides. White is a playmaker who drops a lot of balls. He's fast and small. He runs good routes and doesn't block. The upsides are why we got him. The downsides are why he was available.

Post of the week.

Succinct and pithy.

He has been dropping more than your average $200k REC.  Instead of improving it seems to be getting a bit worse.  But it's not an insurmountable problem.

I'm shocked at how well spoken he is (in the presser).  More like a Gino than a Kenny.  Sounds like a smart guy and should be a great MOS fit.
Never go full Johnston!

I still ponder why HAM usually made him the DNA (25 snap guy).  Just some ratio cheating or something about him where he can't play all snaps?

25 snaps where he's taking the place of a Canadian. He can still play the rest of the game taking an american spot.
My wife is amazing!

If they did that they could start both Nield and Clercius and bring White in for Clercius shortly after, splitting reps depending on the blocking assignments.  I'd be surprised if O'Shea all of a sudden embraced this loophole.

The reason we avoided the loophole was for the extra draft pick... if we need to make the ratio adjustment to get a dynamic player on the field, screw the draft pick.

You can't make Taylor the DNA, but you can designate White the DNA when Taylor is on the field...  that gets Taylor 25 touches.

True, and easily overlooked.  However, that one game where TSN said HAM got the notice they were up to 25 (maybe 23 at the time) I recall White didn't see the field at all right after.

Oh, I didn't mean we'd start playing White the same way.  I 100% guarantee MOS will continue to 100% ignore the DNA/DNS nonsense.  And I would 100% guarantee he is thinking it's bunk.

Well... unless we have a major paradigm shift in thinking because "business as Mafia-usual" didn't get us anywhere last season, and they know that...

Have you watched this FA tampering period?

The hiring of Tommy Condell, a veteran CFL co-ordinator?

This is not the 2025 Mafia, sir.

Missing a home GC seems to have changed the paradigm bigly.

In some ways, sure.  Regarding the team stance on DNAs??  That would be like the last thing MOS gives in to.  Even if Condell is dying for it (did OTT use it much??) it still has to get past MOS.

Why put Taylor in for more than a few snaps a game?
Some people take this forum way too seriously.
