I'd take Dru Brown over Chris Streveler any day

The question is do you take Dru Brown over Zach Collaros next year. What we're paying Zach and Strev we could easily afford Brown and Crum and be set for years to come at Qb.....just an interesting thought. I can't see MOS doing this as he is too loyal to his players, so I'd definitely go after Crum this off season and get him here and work a year in our system and alongside Zach, and in another years time when ZC retires, bring Brown back here, as I am sure he's sick of losing in Ottawa, as is Crum, which is why he'd jump here this upcoming off season.

I always cheer for Crum because he's an underdog and he's become a pretty efficient #2 QB, but hard to believe the RB's would ever try to sell him as their next great QB in what surely must be a rebuilding year. I don't know what they plan to do, but that shouldn't be in the top 10 of good ideas if they hope to retain their fanbase.

I think they'll try and retain their Qb corps as its one of the bright spots in an otherwise putride roster...Pimpleton is another good player teams will try and poach. If they re-sign, I give them 1 more year with the new regime and if its another losing one, which it likely will be as it takes time, draft choices and some good FA signings, they'll be ready to bolt as they'll be sick and tired of losing in their prime years. Try and get Crum this upcoming FA, and then Brown the next one.

Sure, but he's already under contract. He'll continue to sign extensions long before he gets to any tamper period. And will be told by Montreal management that they'll beat any offer.

Unless Montreal absolutely sucks and is dragging him down, let's find our own option. That's the least likely route.

In theory yes I would. OTOH who knows what our roster looks like in 2026. Half or more are potential free agents. We may get most back but we may lose several significant pieces and be in a big re-tooling.  No QB will do well behind a bad OL.

What would we need to give up to get him and would Collaros have trade value? Could be a big SMS savings.

Well that's easy then.  Leak out we will pay Alexander $1M + $200k MMM.  Then MTL will have to match (or come close-ish) and we instantly ruin that team (SMS-wise)!  Boom, one less team to worry about being "good".

The only thing is Montreal wouldn't have been as stupid or cheap as us and let their superstar player go. Losing Lawler was totally avoidable, especially when we cheated out on Dobson and ford as well. I can accept being outbid on one maybe two of our superstar free agents, but losing all 3 is unforgivable and our roster has never recovered from those loses.

Montreal is NEVER letting Alexander go, if we offered him some crazy amount of money, Montreal would match it at the very least and schmooze a deal so they don't lose the Qb they discovered and is their future. Sorry, we gotta find our own

I think you have a realistic shot at Crum, only because the Redblacks are a hot mess. Montreal is a power house, why would anyone leave that, especially if they'll match $$ from outside poaching clubs?!? Still, dream on, dream on, dream until your dreams come true!!!

After this season, I don't really trust Zach to perform up to expectations, as he's only done so once this season. Maybe he can redeem himself with a playoff run, but he has to demonstrate it by beating the Elks, Riders, and at least hanging with the Als.

He's become the injury time bomb we all feared he would, one solid hit and he's out.  If they meet the Riders in the WF, their clear mission will be to take Zach out so they can advance to the Grey Cup, they won't take the chance of best team wins.

As for Crum, he'd be a great #2 but O'Shea and most Bomber fans love Streveler and he might continue his role as backup for the next 3-4 years, so I don't expect they'll bring in anyone to compete for his #2 job.  I'm ok with this plan as long as they don't attempt to elevate him to #1.

If we stick with the same Qb lineup next year, we are destined for failure. Collaros is one hit away from retirement, and the idea of Strev taking snaps as our #1 makes me want to throw up. Surely to god, there is more sense in the Bombers office than to stick status quo, it would be a disaster. can you imagine game planning for a 6 pass attempt offense game in and game out?!?!
