Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on August 05, 2025, 10:38:23 PMThought Dexter Lawson was a rookie but he was with the Ti-Cats for 2023 and half of 2024 where he started and played in 13 games. Could be shades of ex-Ti-Cat Desmond Lawrence, temporary fill in.

Played 13 games, had 45 DTs, 2 STs, 1 Int. Very solid guy, loves to play physical, and has good closing speed.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

Quote from: Blueforlife on August 05, 2025, 10:22:59 PMZach still has got a lot give and is much more than a pick machine.  He will turn back on the TD machine as soon as our OL gets healthy and we improve at receiver.  Yes he will throw ducks but his TD to Int ratio should stabilize.  MOS is right to defend him.
Yeah I would get Woods on

Amazing report Jesse!!!!
We had a good OL and recievers the last 2 Grey Cups, what happened then?? I'll excuse the 4th quarter in last years Grey Cup due to injury, but he wasn't lighting it up in the first 3 quarters, or the previous Grey Cup either.

I am hopeful its an OL and reciever issue, and if it is, i can see our OL getting back on track this year, but our receivers aren't a strong lot, so our misery will continue. Get used to seeing a DB take a ball away from one of our smaller recievers.

You can't look at any single game sample size, even if it's the Grey Cup, but we've had some bad injury luck at receiver in both those cup games.

If you want to take MOS at his word, they look at each interception in film, and the QB could be making the right read/play but receiver is wrong or was rushed too early, etc etc. They look at the process of why the INT happens, not just "Zach bad".

I hope these are the changes this week:

COLLAROS for Artopeous - obviously
BRYANT for Lofton - obviously, although I can see them keeping Lofton as LG.
MITCHELL for Cooley - Mitchell is practicing with the 1s, looking more he will play this week
PETERSON for Cobb - if Cooley is out, we need someone to backup Brady
SCHMEKEL for C. Lawson - this if C.Lawson is out
D. LAWSON for Parker - Parker will go to the 6-game, dont want Bridges back on that spot
WOODS for Ayers - I hope they'll go DL-heavy this week. Mills will run all over us again
BAILEY for Ball - I don't think we need 4 NAT DBs, I'll try this guy

Agree all but don't think we will see Bailey (yet)
A little nervous about Lawson!

If we add Woods, we probably don't need Schmekel. He'd be the one I'd leave on IR in order to add Bailey. Ball was playing on ST's and Schmekel has been hidden on IR all season.

It would be really interesting to hear from those going to practice about what the # 1 OL looks like. Is it a 3 Canadian or 3 import?

Good list from M.O.A.B. I think lots of those are probable.

Haven't been to practice but I imagine one option they would look at on the offensive line is:

Bryant - Randolph - Kolankowski - Neufeld - Lofton

Which, if it looks familiar, was what we rolled out for a lot of last year. It's a question of whether Wallace has earned enough trust that he can outplay Randolph there and then the opportunity cost with the ratio if he hasn't. The major benefit to Randolph at guard that I can see is that if either tackle go down they'll be happy here's there to rejuggle.

3 Canadian all week

Calgarys dline is right now playing like the best in league, given how qbs are going down Id like to see Randolph in. And going with 6 oline regularly.
This would mean one of the following would move to pr
Ayers (and Jones if Woods is in)
Mitchell

People out of Calgary saying Bighill is practicing this week and could draw in, too.

Well it's a ratio advantage if we do that allowing an import elsewhere. Like everything, there are pros and cons. I'm not concerned that we won't be able to run effectively. It's more of a question can we pass protect and keep Collaros from getting hit or needing to rush throws.

Calgary has many roster issues regarding injuries to some key players. VAJ is probably back but they have issues in their secondary due to injuries. We have to be able to take advantage.
